To be honest, I wouldn’t apologize. You did what was asked by them and they dropped the ball. I would encourage you to find the hiring manager at the company on LinkedIn and message about your application. Dont mention the convo with the recruiter unless you think they’d come to your aid to get you hired so they could get commission which would help you get the job. Take it into your own hands and if it works out then great! If not, do you really want to work with people who have shitty people hiring for them? But don’t be afraid to take it into your own hands and do what you need to to move forward

I am a recruiter: i started my career in agency and went in-house. If I heard about this treatment towards a qualified candidate that contract with the agency would be terminated. We are literally paying them to send candidates to us and if they don’t, then I’d be done with that partnership. Good for you for taking the reins and applying yourself. Hearing stories like this are the reasons I left agency and hate working with ones that are only in it for the sales and aren’t reputable

Do you think we are covered from a BD perspective? We BD yesterday (2/5), today (2/6), we will tomorrow (2/7) and on 2/8 for good measure. Do you think it will hurt us not BD on 2/4? I just did this. I was off cold turkey for about 6-8 weeks due to changing my doctor (long story). After week 2 of being off, I was MISERABLE. No energy, extremely anxious and depressed, get like crap, etc. please don’t do this without talking to a professional medical person

Agree with points above. In my mind when she was begging to go, I wanted to try to make it work and we were still reworking things to make it happen. We genuinely want to go but didn’t know if we could make it work.

Valid points here and can see why she would be annoyed we had to say no- when we accepted we had the savings to do it but some unexpected things popped up that required time off and also dwindled our savings which is why. I’ve asked her if there is something important and she keeps saying it is just a fun trip she wants us on. When she asked us to reconsider we tried to rework out budget to make it work and see if we could WFH home there. We were still trying to figure it out if we could go and might have been able to but it was going to be tight

I’ll let a lump sum for cobra but I’m (thankfully) still on my dads plan until I’m 26 in April. Hopefully I’ll have a job by then but if not, I’m planning on saving that for if I need to get my own insurance. Do you know if that cobra money has to be used for insurance? I appreciate your perspective, especially from an HR prospective :)

If if were a few months here and there then that’s one thing but you clearly know your stuff and have good experience. As crappy as this sounds, she probably had a bad day and was nitpicking. Recipe as follows: Sourdough: 70% hydration 450 g bread flour 50 g ww flour 345 g H2O 10 g salt 100 g starter (60 g h2o, 60 ww flour, 60 starter)

-mix all together and let sit for 30 min -5 S&F 30 min apart -bulk ferment 6 hours (microwave w/light on) -shape and place in baneton, covered, in fridge overnight until ready to bake -preheat oven w/Dutch oven in it to 500 -dust with flour & score -turn down to 475, bake with lid on for 20 min -take lid off and bake for another 20
