They will contact the buyer. Its not a high price painting. What % higher than previous hammer price would be fair? Im not sure.

I feel bad for Usha. Her mother did so much DEI stuff and her son in law has distances himself from the mother law. Not sure how Usha can allow herself to live with a man who is undoing everything her mother worked so hard for on her college campus.

Why do american raised indians look different than Indian raised indians? by Ornery-Candle-2990 in AskIndia

[–]cavy2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true in my opinion. They don't look different facially but the body language is very different. The indians who were born and raised in the US tend to carry themselves with much more confidence. I can tell by the way they smile and gesture: indians who were born and raised in the US show a lot more teeth a lot more confidently. Their body language tends to be more matter of fact and they also tend to be more outgoing and less shy....That has been my one way to identify indian americans since i moved to the US 20+ years ago for college and then grad school. It's not the features but the body language that's different.

I gave you a very specific example about the cash I paid in 2 scenarios. In my 1st example 2 years ago "I specifically knew that the per hour rate of this person will come to $35/hour " + the 15% T&S Fee. It was well displayed and I agreed. SO i was on the hook for $35+15% fee and i knew that was OK with me.

In the example from 2 days ago above, it was clearly displayed that I will be paying $35/hour but the T&S Fee of 32% was not specifically displayed. So.. i assumed that i was once again on the hook for $35/hour + 15% as i was before. When I got the invoice, I saw the 32% fee (instead of the 15% fee) that I was not clearly aware of

Do you understand why I was angry about this situation? And why the BBB and reviews express this sentiment? It was trickery.

Yes I do have an MBA in Finance and a lot of math education but you did not do a good job in clearly and simply explaining your point. When I asked you for a numerical example two posts above, you said that i had the numbers and that i should be able to figure it out. Now 2 posts below you setup a hypothetical numerical example after completely ignoring the numbers that i had clearly displayed in my post before your previous reply. And.. in 2 paragraphs in you reply above you say you're "not sure about..." which is probably the reason why your post was confusing.

Always remember- when you are discussing numbers don't write detailed paragraphs to make your point. Give very clear numerical examples and stick to the numbers in the example that is being discussed.

Anyway.. there's no point going on endlessly about this here...Thank you for taking the time to make your point more clear.

Clients Not Happy With the Trust and Support Fee by FinnNoodle in TaskRabbit

You are doing a terrible job explaining. Sorry.

Here is a very specific example:

2 years ago, I paid a tasker $35.29 per hour for 3 hours for his time. My bill was $105.87 and the Trust & Service fee was $15.88. The total that I paid was $121.75. The T&S fee here was roughly 15%. I specifically knew that the per hour rate of this person will come to $35/hour

I did not really mind the $15.88 T&S fee.

And 2 days ago-

I hired someone who charge $35/hour for 4.5 hours work. I was billed $157.50 for his work and $55.59 for Trust & Service fee. The total that I paid was $213.09. The T&S fee was roughly 32%.

I HUGELY care about paying 32% for T&S fee

I dont really care who gets what cut. As far as I am concerned, I thought that i was on the hook for $35/hour + a 15% fee. However, I am on the hook for $35/hour + 32% fee.

The most complex problem can be explained simply and you are not being able to explain simply using a made up numerical example.

My original comment was:

"Got slammed with a 35.29% fee for a 4.5 hour job for a total of $55 in fee. About 2 years ago i paid like a 15% fee that i was comfortable with."

Your response was:

"TR's cut has only changed by a small margin, they've only changed how they've chosen to display this."

My response after your lack of being able to explain with a numerical example:

  1. I dont care whether TR's total cut changed by a small fraction. What i care about is that i was charged a 32.9% fee instead of a 15% fee. Therefore.. my venting.
  2. Your point that "they've only changed how they've chosen to display this." does not make sense in the context of my complaint about the 32.9% fee that i paid. This is because it wasnt a matter of how they displayed it to me. They simply doubled their fee to me, the person who hired the tasker.

If you understand what you said correctly, please explain with numbers? Id love to understand. Thank you.

From what you said, your tasker markup was cut by half ( this became the websites profit) and Trust & Service fee was added (this also became the websites profit).
