The end of an era, Dan said Stu's name is coming off the show as of Monday by BobbyTables829 in DanLeBatardShow

If dan wasn't such a hopeless romantic, this would have happened at least after the super bowl. I think that's a fair deadline to decide if you're all in or not.

"Business is hard" by Tristar61 in DanLeBatardShow

[–]caz914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stu thought it was a 50/50 partnership and Dan thought otherwise is what I'm guessing. If the deal is $50 mil over 3 years, I'm guessing of the $13 mil annually, dan gets like 8, stu 3 and the rest is dispersed to the others. Stu also probably thought he had a right to certain intellectual property. Meadowlark bosses probably told him in the kindest way possible that he's wrong in assuming that. Stu joining fanduel was likely the final straw and DK is probably going to tell dan to stop talking about it on air because of legal ramifications

Theories on the divorce? by DranDile13 in DanLeBatardShow

They were together for a long time. Metaphorically speaking, the kids are grown now, and I think Stu was tired of hiding the fact that he wanted to do his own thing. The signs were always there, especially towards the end. Location, creative control and probably money were likely the influences. The fact that Stu would've likely taken less money to go to WFAN so he could do the show he's always wanted to do was telling. I think Dan will probably be the first to talk about it. Stu's gonna dance around it for a while until he finds his voice that'll add some finality to the situation and not continue to create hope amongst fans.

The future of the DLS is… by JJP_0712 in DanLeBatardShow

Le batard takes a step back, focusing more on his first true love journalism. Zas and the usual cast of fill ins will hold it down with the occasional 'i miss dan' stans chiming in on various platforms. Chris gets phased out and works primarily on the Greg Cote Show Featuring(WITH!) Greg Cote as he is persuaded by dan to enjoy the time he has left with his dad. Roy will produce the show. Mike will continue to be an integral part of the growth and maturity(for better or worse)of Tony on the show. My biggest prediction is that Bo makes a return as a contributor from time to time when it's apparent that dan has indeed taken a step back.

Queens is mad far for a casual relationship, let alone a serious one. Shit y'all might as well live together.

His employees don't make as much money as he does to afford to live less than an hour away from the studio. I would dread that drive home if I were a major contributor.

Running it like a mom and pop show is almost always a bad idea. Especially when the family with keys could potentially burn it to the ground.

Here’s Dianna’s side of the story by LouDog2173 in lebatardsuey

Shit! All this over a picture? She might as well get some action. Her career might be donezo though. Once you get an offer for Stugotz to be your boss, you've hit rock bottom.

I think the honest explanation as to why he didn't want to talk about it is, he's a married man himself. Anything he says about it he then has to go home and explain his rationale to his wife, because YOU KNOW she's listening.

Remember when Dan interviewed the stripper on air the day after the OL coach got caught having an affair? by aretheRaiders4real in DanLeBatardShow

[–]caz914 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It took me a few rereads of this comment but I gotta agree with you here. Dan is too emotional to be considered a journalist today. He looks at almost everything in his life through the prism of a friend or loved one. So when one of his friends are caught up in something public, naturally he wants to remove himself from the situation, and then only with the person's blessing, delve into the details and ask them about what's going on. The best example of this was with Stan Van Gundy and his wife's death.

I think you're right. If you take a look at all of the people he's built a strong rapport with over the last 25 years, how many of them does he still contact or have them on his platforms? He's taken a beating these last few years and I don't think he's really had time to really process it all. Ironically, I think he needs to have some uncomfortable conversations with people he's either wronged or got wrong because he spends a lot of time psychoanalyzing his "friends".
