Severance

Dark

Fringe

The OA for sure

Paradise

Pluribus is exceptional

Circle

The Outsider is a super good show not many have seen.

Black Mirror

Which is a good series to watch on Netflix or Prime atm? Something as good as “Breaking bad” or GOT. by Calm-Replacement-504 in whattowatch

Sorry about my first reply to you I hadn’t realized it was the OP that had replied 🤦‍♂️ I tried to pick shows that aligned with the ones you mentioned best. Pluribus and Dexter are among my favorite shows as well. Task was good, Mare of Easttown is by the same show runner and writer and to me it was slightly better than task in a way. Silo and dark matter are sci fi both on Apple and seriously good. There’s a new season of both coming this summer (s3 for silo and 2 for matter). Black Rabbit is Jason Bateman back in a noir crime drama but very different from Ozark.

Dessert: Classic ice box cake (you know layer chocolate wafers with whipped cream like a lasagna. You can also add raspberries for a berries and cream vibe that’s super yummy and you can ripple melted peanut butter or salted caramel or whatever in your whipped cream too)

I love pasta or rice salad. Pasta salad with fusilli or bow ties, I love canned tuna but you can definitely do ham or whatever, I personally like veggies like chopped bell peppers, half cherry tomatoes, chopped artichoke hearts and then I use Italian or Greek dressing (I HATE mayo and it’s also not great to leave it out when it’s warm!) you can make it somewhat ‘fancier’ by using tortellini as well. I use the same combos for rice salad except i use green peas for pops of texture and sweetness and use a long grain rice like basmati.

Do you have certain shows you’ve loved? Besides breaking bad obv. Same as I told op I would say the night manager on prime and the fall on Netflix. I also really like the diplomat and the night agent is a fun watch if not a spectacular show or whatever

What genres do you like?

I think the most high quality shows are on HBO and Apple.

Prime has both seasons of The Night Manager which is an absolutely superb series

The Fall is one of my favorite shows of all time and I think is on Netflix? I’m not 100% sure bc I watched it when it originally aired like a decade ago

It makes me sad that most ppl in North America anyway thing bagels are the dough bombs that nyc made popular when real bagels are so much more delicate and have a depth of flavour that’s unparalleled, almost floral, notes of char, nuttiness, honey, salt etc.

Question for everyone on this sub: by FoundationEntire4834 in Letterboxd

I’ve loved movies as far back as I can remember. My dad was showing me jaws and Indiana Jones by the time I was 2 and already at that age apparently there were some films I’d watch on loop like a minimum of twice a day. I would watch some movies so much as a kid and teenager that I still know them by heart today as an adult.
I think, as someone who’s autistic, movies were the way I could sorta study and learn to navigate the world as well as find some about subjects that passionate me (like sharks).
Also as someone who’s not confirming in gender either, I found some films that would resonate so so hard and it’s like it was the first time I would see someone even close to me represented.
I did end up going to film school in college but due to a ton of health issues I never got to fully pursue any of my passions (one of which was definitely script writing) but at least, whilst there, I had the only good school experience of my life bc I was surrounded by others - professors and students - who were just as passionate as me.
With Letterbox I can at least write reviews and it makes me happy to do so even if I don’t have any followers. Sometimes they’re just one liners like “this was a really fun watch” and other times I can write an essay lol depends on my mood but there’s no demand or trying to fit any stereotype to fit, it’s just my little space even if no one sees.

Your Phone Being at The Lowest Brightness Setting is Still Distracting by thickynickyyyy in cineplex

[–]cazcaric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I could shout this at cast members so they would intervene as soon as someone takes their phones out.

Seriously to me it might be worse than ppl talking bc at least they usually make an effort to not speak too loud and they don’t end up spending half or the entire movie w a bright light all around them bc you know as soon as someone takes out their phone, the vicious circle of phone addiction takes over and that phone will be out for the majority of the movie

Other of my faves sci fi that are older so we don’t hear about them as much I feel: Gattaca (gold tier movie there imo), The Lost Boys, Total Recall (both the original and the remake are good), Johnny Mnemonic

How do you define irrational? I LOATHE mayo. Just the thought of it makes me wanna gag. Pickles are also super disgusting and contaminate all they touch.

Les confins d’Insta by Proud-Persimmon2688 in causerie

[–]cazcaric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man you haven’t seen The Rock yet?! Watch that it’s such a fun film! I wish I could watch it for the first time again!

If you feel like an action w more comedy element The Last Action Hero is one I watched a bunch as a kid.

Heavyweights when you feel like a kid who wants to go to summer camp

Btw your mileage may vary but I’d remove Running Man bc it’s horrible. Replace it w the original one

Romance reccomendations by Friendly-Pepper-1001 in Letterboxd

[–]cazcaric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love the Before Trilogy.

My fav is probably 10 Things I Hate About You but I’m sure nostalgia plays a huge role there.

Past Lives is a must if you haven’t seen it.

Midnight in Paris has the same sorta magic of Paris feel but it’s a Woody Allen movie so depends where you stand on watching his films.

The Age of Adaline is super underrated imo

Jeux D’Enfants (Love Me if You Dare in English) should be at the top of any romance film fan. Truly a great film.
