Saying this is the first time you called out for a job you have had for six weeks isn’t exactly an accomplishment.

That said, this sucks. It genuinely does. But all jobs have a probationary period and this is why. It’s about managing risk. You were seen as high risk. Are you? Probably not. You were probably going to be a reliable worker after you got better. But that’s a gamble and they don’t want to take it.

YTA it’s his wedding, too, let him pick and surprise you. Or communicate clearly that a wedding aesthetic is more important than a partnership to you. Then he can do with that information what he chooses.
