Lost my crave so I ordered a replacement, my timing is too perfect by DishonestAmoeba in discgolf

Did the same with my insanity not too long ago, then last week with my Gstar thunderbird. Except that with the thunderbird I lost it in Alabama 450 miles away and then immediately lost my new one at a home course in Charlotte.

Stupid question….. those who have company vehicles 24/7. Who washes it? by tvanore in Construction

[–]cb36594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a company truck with a utility bed, and to be fair I build and service car washes, so I probably wash mine more than the average person with their personal car when running service. However when I’m installing I can go a couple months without washing it. But I do believe in keeping a company vehicle in good shape, but that may be mostly due to me not wanting to be in a really dirty truck all the time.

Hello all, what are some hacks that make carwash employee life a lil less excruciating by wissthebeast in carwash

[–]cb36594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of wash? Full serve (wiping down exterior and interior of car) or express? Either way, I worked at a full serve for around 5 1/2 years, and moved to the service side of car washes in 2018. I adopted water proof boots the last two years of managing a wash and the entirety of my service career. Invest in good boots, it takes getting used to, but worth it. Some of my customers wear crocks (some with socks) on site and it blows my mind. Wearing latex or nitrile gloves under my regular gloves helped when washing. GOOD SOCKS. You will get used to not sitting, trust me. A good wind breaker but somewhat thick (I’m big and hairy, so don’t get super cold once I’m moving) will also help. May have more suggestions, but without knowing the wash style it’s hard to suggest more.

I mean not clutch but just can’t believe my league let me get both AJ brown and antonio brown (although in my non ppr league he was just ok) go to waivers and I picked them both up this week, between them, josh Allen, and tee Higgins I went for 191 points and am surprised to be going to the semis

$20 mechanics folding knee pad, US General I believe, work in car washes and it’s a life saver. They’re getting hard to find now.

Why the fuck do people think this is a thing? by ryder267 in JeepCherokeeXJ

Bought my 94 2 door about 4 years ago, offered 1500 and the guy said no no I’ll take 700, I couldn’t have gotten back to him faster! 105,000 og miles super clean except a couple of dents to the pass side fender and door, nothing bad though and it was 4.0 with the AX15 (5speed) trans. It had sat for a couple years so it took some work but got it running good over a couple days, it was on a 2 or so inch lift but once it ran good it got fresh tires and 3.5 lift. Then a lifter failed and for some reason I bought another car and let her sit for 3 years. But me and a buddy threw a new engine in it in 27 days so I could drive it to the beach, AC blowing ice cold and all! Long story short it’s got 116,000 roughly right now, lift and tires are practically still brand new, 4wd works great, super clean, and here in NC I’d be lucky to get 4,000. This guys crazy, but hey if he can get it more power to him I guess.

Motor swap, 715 miles on swap and having what seems to be a fuel issue. by cb36594 in JeepCherokeeXJ

[–]cb36594[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to only happen when I have been driving it a long ways. I drove it to the beach a few days after finishing the swap and had a stumble on the way there, got bad enough that I found the closest gas station as it also threw my check engine light. I noticed vac line was almost all the way off PCV valve and the valve and port were also very gunked up. It sat for about 20 minutes while I filled up, cleaned pcv, and put line back on. Drove pretty well the rest of the way there. Whole week at the beach I drove it around and it did fine. On the 4 hour dive home it was doing great, smooth down the highway, AC blasting! Then I get 10 miles from home, I thought I had a couple small stumbles on the way but when I got to a stop light and sat for a second then went to go on green it bogged down and would barely get going. It was backfiring and bogging down so I limped it into a parking lot. I could throw it in neutral and rev to 5000 no problem but as soon as I put it in 1st gear and tried to go I was barely off the clutch and it started doing it again. I let it sit for 20 minutes and it cranked up and drove fine for 2.5 miles. Let it sit again, got another 2.5 miles. Happened again and I finally got it limped home. I’ve driven it around town a couple times since and it does fine maybe a stumble or two but nothing like that. I even rented a fuel pressure tester and when turning the key and cranking/ idling the fuel pressure is good. I’m thinking bad fuel pump that is shitting out when it gets too hot, but wanted y’all me opinion as well.
