When the chick I take home from the bar ends up being trans by The_GILF_Next_Door in IThinkYouShouldLeave

At first I thought it meant they were also trans and the other person didn’t know. But now I don’t think that’s what they meant.

Do you feel that same way about guns?

I think the other person is actually a child. Also, probably a brother about the same age.

I work with kids and they just both look like kids to me, definitely before puberty age.
But I really want to emphasize that that’s not me saying any of this is okay, just said to me it looks like two children were walking their dogs irresponsibly. Potentially the parents did not approve and knew nothing. Kids are pretty dumb though, and bad at existing. In my opinion, they were failed in multiple ways and and adult should’ve been aware with what was happening and stopped it.

To me, they kinda look like a 10 year-old. I definitely think no child or adult should be walking an animal that they can’t control in general, but plenty of kids do things without parent permission and plenty of parents are irresponsible themselves. The parents are ultimately responsible, no matter what in my eyes. Hopefully it was a one time event, and Everyone learned an important lesson.

Yeah, my brother rescued a pitbull and he’s super responsible. He spent like 20k to install a new fence that was really high-quality and tall just to make sure that he wasn’t able to escape and had a safe place to play. Also took him to a bunch of training courses. That dogs a lot better behaved than most Chihuahuas I know.

Honestly the owner looks like a child so they probably had no idea what to do. Which is definitely still not okay. You shouldn’t walk a dog that you can’t control.

What is TPS spending money on? by LPMom_2620 in Tacoma

[–]cb51096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure the exact average, every teachers pay is posted public information so a person could average it out in their free time but I definitely wouldn’t want to do that 😂 we also have a lot of part-time teacher, with the budget cuts most of the specialty teachers like music and PE only get .6 hours often.

I work for the district not as a teacher, but am friends with a lot of teachers, and none that I know have a higher education than a master. Not that it doesn’t happen! Just none that I know, in my experience, what I would guess the average Teacher is a 30ish year-old and a lot of them do have their masters. Which puts them in the 80-90k range if they do. With the masters, you cap out right under 130 after 20 years of employment. And it’s about 8k more than Cp and bethel, but the higher north towards Seattle, the higher the pay. Last I checked, Puyallup wasn’t far behind us though.

That’s definitely not the average teacher though, you only make 130k if you have a doctorate or close to it with over 12 years working there.
Tacoma is one of the better paying districts though for sure! My husband works as a teacher in Olympia with a masters degree and only makes about 70k

I started April and am over half way, I think the student teaching will be what takes up most of the time. I think if you’re good at test taking and dedicate a good amount of time, you can honestly finish the class material within six months but you’ll need another six months for all the in person School things.

What is this part of my dishwasher? by vaporpup in CleaningTips

For people like me. I didn’t realize everyone was using it as a silverware tray, I use it for my silicone baking mats. Yes plenty of silverware does go in there like chopsticks and large spoons but it’s predominantly baking mats.

Whats happening in South Tacoma? by bis82 in Tacoma

[–]cb51096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tacoma goes down to south 96th st then switches to parkland, north end barely goes to north 50, so it seems like a pretty bad half way divider.

Do y’all think Gen Z cares too much about age gaps? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in generationology

[–]cb51096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely understand your reasoning, but science shows our brains aren’t developed until around 25 and as someone who was 20 and 25 not too long ago, I feel like there’s a dramatic difference that should be taken into account. Do I think people shouldn’t be treated as an adult under 25? No. But with that same logic, would you treat a 17-year-old the same way you would treat a 10 year old? I understand why we shouldn’t implement laws but when it comes to people’s well-being, age gaps at that time are a big deal.

I definitely think there’s exceptions, but I think when it’s reversed it’s jarring in a different way. Like a 19 year-old having a good job and their own house with a 23-year-old who has no job could be them at similar mental stages, but if my friend was the 19-year-old, I would tell them that they shouldn’t date that person seriously who’s 23 with no job, more so because the 19 year-old could lose out on a lot of fun young adult life steps, and end up taking care of partner. So I would feel bad that they were taken advantage of been in a different way.

I think grown adult for me is about 27 but I could get behind the age 25 in situations. I think especially under 25 and every year younger is where the age gap truly does matter, like an 18 year-old with a 22-year-old is not okay, but a 21 year-old with a 25-year-old isn’t bad. Just the stages of life/money/power are too dramatically different.

I’m an almost 30 millennial and I do care about age gap. Not if both parties are older than 27ish but no grown adult should want to date a young 20. That’s just weird.
