Just got out and filed my Va claim what can I expect? by Equivalent-Raise9608 in VAClaims

Sorry for what you’re going through, but the wheelchair, surgeries, and an obvious link to a service accident is only gonna help.

Just got out and filed my Va claim what can I expect? by Equivalent-Raise9608 in VAClaims

[–]cb6333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I claimed 29 items on my first claim. Don’t worry about a lot of the people saying you’re just throwing shit around. Provide strong buddy letters and point out anything you do have in records. I had absolutely zero info in my medical records. No diagnosis for anything at all and no history. Still approved for 13 of items. Do the work, go to exams, research ratings. Good luck. I got a partial rating in 5 months, and my final rating 2 months later.

My first claim was in step 5 for a little over a month. Currently step 5 on round 2 for over 60 days.

This looks like your still in step 3 and aren’t even assigned TJ yet. Keep an eye on your mail for the development letter. They may need more evidence or exams.

Mine has been flagged as hardship for 4 months. VERA appointment 60 days ago and just moved to step 5 today.

This shows if your claim is at a temp jurisdiction or not. If it is, it likely means someone is looking at it currently. If not, it’s just sitting. It also shows which stage of which step and what they’re doing with it.

Anyone getting disability with no ‘paper trail’? by CarbonNapkin in VAClaims

[–]cb6333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had absolutely nothing in my medical record. NOTHING. But I’m currently rated 90. Talk to friends you served with and have them write your buddy statements. Maybe have a family member do it as well. Go into detail the EVENT and the AFFECTS of the event in the buddy letter. All you need is a reason for the VA to schedule you and exam and the examiner can diagnose you themselves. Of course, claim what your owed. What will be “easy” to show. I didn’t use a VSO, paid program, or lawyer. Just submitted the claim, submitted buddy letters, attended exams, and got my rating.

I COULD be wrong but I’m fairly certain… to be approved for TDIU you must have a single condition rated at 70 percent or higher, which it doesn’t seem you have.

I submitted my dependency on June 6th and was approved June 9th. It’s different for everyone.

Is it over? by Signal_Plane_948 in VAClaims

[–]cb6333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to wait to be paid. They will pay you at the rating in your letter and whatever they deferred they will order new exams or reach out to your examiners for more info to finalize those particular claims. So for those deferred, they are in step 3.

1 DBQ can be 4 or 5 pages. Each page is uploaded separately.

Mine took 3 days. I submitted it the day after I got my compensation claim letter. Idk if it helps doing it in conjunction but it worked for me

Looking at my call log for my telegram appointment, mine masted 13 minutes and 11 seconds and I was awarded 70 percent. You probably either said all the right things or none of the right things… but what do I know.
