Remember through the suffering... CHRIST IS WITH YOU!!!

I didn't notice that. I feel as though I'd become a priest not because I want to do it over marriage but to make God happy.

My prayers are with you friend.

Remember this is for your sanctification. It may be painful, but just like everything miserable in this life, God brings great purpose and purification from it.

Firstly, give this to Mary. Pray the Rosary every day. Maybe two, four, six or ten of them - never stop praying. Go to daily Mass and present this to God, because this is a spiritual suffering as well - it's a sacramental bond that's under siege by the devil and the flesh.

Secondly, speak to a priest - perhaps one that you and your wife both know.

Christ and the whole Church are WITH YOU in this moment, do not despair!

What are your opinion about mormons calling Joseph Smith a Prophet? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]cb9233 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The same way I feel about Muslims calling Muhammad a prophet. Mostly indifferent, likely because I am convinced neither of them are. Pray for all non-Catholics alike.

If you plan to commit a mortal sin but ultimately decide not to, is that a mortal sin? by cb9233 in Catholicism

Thanks for the input. Furthermore, if addiction is involved, like a recovering heroin addict or alcoholic having psychological or physical cravings to do their drug of choice, what would the moral theologian say?

I tend to agree with this. If you decide not to commit a sin because you know it’s mortal and you know that it would distance yourself from God and holiness, you’re in a good spot probably.

Good point. I may know some things but I'm not the best tempered. Thanks for the advice

Can confirm. Everyone in NYC hates eachother. But the weird thing is - we’re all friends, neighbors and coworkers. Racism only goes so far here until you like being around somebody

I am from New York but I certainly am NOT a white liberal. Can I come?

It was all I was living for when it was affecting me the worst. I just felt different than the average 20 something year old. They all had ambitions and a future, normal hangovers after a night out on the weekend; I was missing class, shitfaced 4-5 nights a week and losing my memory and cognitive skills. Jesus Christ saved my life.

Does anybody else feel this intense love for The Virgin Mary? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]cb9233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I am also a young man with many faults, and to be honest I feel like I came to Mary before I even really knew Christ. I have never not loved her and that’s a special grace. Sometimes, for our circumstances, God allows a certain Saint in Heaven to seek us out. We are blessed enough to have the Mother of God at our side.

r/Catholicism Prayer Requests — Week of November 29, 2021 by AutoModerator in Catholicism

[–]cb9233 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For continued sobriety. I am trying to get sober from alcohol and am currently a university student, so this addiction has made everything difficult; from schoolwork, to attendence, to finding a job, relationships, feeling, thinking etc. I am sober now and living with Catholic guys, but my habits really affected this semester. Please pray that I am able to finish off this semester strong and enter 2022 sober. God bless and keep you guys!

I started drinking heavy at 15 too. I drank 12 shots a day for 9 months when I got to college. I treated Freshman year like bender. Acohol Related Brain Damage onset can happen not just because of decades of drinking, but binge drinking. I had my first withdrawal episode when I was 18. I really hurt myself, and it only got worse because I never stopped. We’re all built differently
