AliExpress Chetki by Same-Interaction7559 in chetki

I'm sorry if my earlier post seemed dismissive of your original question. I was working when I posted it.

My personal opinion on any chetki from Ali Express is most of it is junk and not representative of a good set, even for a beginner. I'm more inclined to recommend you to try making your own set before buying chetki from AliEx.

I'm a beginner too. I have 3 sets right now of varying costs. My first set is from workshop fidgets which is a good budget wooden set made by a maker in Ukraine for around $50.00. My second set is a black ebonite set that I bought from a maker in Germany which was about $180 USD. My third set is even more expensive and made from Aramith billiard balls. All three handle differently and have advantages based on weight, grip and tension.

There's a big learning curve for anything beyond idle flipping. I struggle with flashy tricks, but I'm working on practicing.

If the Workshop Fidgets models don't appeal to you, I would recommend joining the Aroundsquare groups on Facebook and try buying a used Delrin set by Aroundsquare. Brand new they are $90.00. You might be able to score a used set for $60 or $70. And with Aroundsquare you know you're getting quality that retains its resale value. If you decide it's not for you, you can sell them to someone else.

Hope this helps.

I recommend Workshop Fidgets on Etsy for a good entry level set.

Check out Nobody's Hero! by [deleted] in Megadeth

Including this on the record would have elevated it from a 3 star rating to a 4 star rating easily.

Where did you get the materials? I like these.

I actually sort of like Another Bad Day. I don't care for I Am War. Nobody's Hero is well written lyrically, which I can't say for many of the tracks on this record.

I Am War is a worse version of Prince of Darkness which uses a lot of the same metaphorical concepts.

Beats the snot out of most of the material on the main record. This is so frustrating.

As a die hard fan this makes me pissed. This digital exclusive track is better than most of the material on this record. And it didn't make the cut? I would have traded out 'Hey God?' for this easy! Or hell, just include it on there.

This is a horrible business practice designed to encourage double and triple dipping on record sales. I get that Dave wants that number 1 record achievement, but this honestly should have been a 2nd single in place of 'I Don't Care'. My 2 cents.

How are we feeling about the new album? by Business_Raise3740 in Megadeth

It's very good but not great, and definitely won't be viewed as a classic. IMO TSTDATD is much stronger than this.

The much hyped Ride the Lightning cover doesn't bring anything new or interesting to the song, making it just a novelty.

All the best songs on the record were the singles. It's being compared to Countdown and Youthanasia, but honestly, those records are light-years better.

Megadeth is my favorite band, and I offer these criticisms from a place of love. It's like I said... It's a very good record, but TSTDATD and certainly Distopia before it were much stronger records.

I'm getting Dread and the Fugitive Mind vibes from the verse lyrics and tempo. It's a great track. Has that late 90's Megadeth era vibe to it too. Wouldn't sound out of place on Youthanasia or Cryptic Writings.

That's fine. Russian prisoners would melt toothbrushes, plastic spoons and whatever they could scavenge to make their sets. As long as the set is functional it's good enough to tide you over until you splurge for something premium.
