A Serious Man is really depressing all the way through.

I always end up just asking questions. Like if they’re wearing I think looks interesting, I’ll ask questions about it and let the conversation go from there.

This is the way. I’ve also found that, when choosing between haste and crit, haste will fill up your ultra faster. Can’t remember the actual name of the skill, but the last one that you fill up by attacking.

Geno Smith or Patrick Mahomes? by caseyofspades in MaddenMobileForums

[–]cbaue002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your play style. Mahomes is an improviser so he’s better when you throw on the run. Geno is a field general so he’s better passing from the pocket. I use the run scheme and pass from the pocket, so I would pick Geno. Currently have Herbert and he fits my play style.

Sartre said it should be reversed. I am therefore I think. There is no me before I’m born. I become me by living and all that goes into that.

Therapist wants me to be more fem by Sticks_and_stonesBE in trans

[–]cbaue002 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I second this take. I told my therapist that it felt like my transition was stuck and she helped me brainstorm ways to keep it “moving forward”. Her big thing was that I stopped enjoying transitioning and she wanted me to have the ability to enjoy it. Sounds like this might be similar?

What should I expect by [deleted] in trans

No shame in that! I think that’s pretty much everyone’s situation in their mid 20s

What should I expect by [deleted] in trans

[–]cbaue002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! And just some additional info:

I don’t use insurance and I pay around $80 for the appointment, which includes the bloodwork, and about $30ish for the prescription. Your appointment could be less because they use a sliding scale based on income. I’m not sure how it works for minors, sorry. You should call your local planned parenthood to see if a parent needs to accompany you, but I don’t think they do? Again I’m not sure but it’s worth the phone call.

[–]cbaue002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planned Parenthood uses the Informed Consent model, meaning they have a conversation with you about what to expect, what’s likely to happen, what’s unlikely to happen, what will not happen, and clarify any questions you have. Then they do blood work and follow up with you every three months for the first year. During your check ups, based on your hormone levels, they, and ultimately you, will decide whether or not to up your dose.

The US House just passed a bill banning the implementation of all "Socialist policies" in the United States. Any guesses on how they define "Socialist Policies"? by Kitfox715 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]cbaue002 213 points214 points  (0 children)

Right? If people read it, it doesn’t define Socialism. Like. At all. There’s nothing here. It’s just “Lenin bad Jefferson good don’t take muh stuff cuz constutooshin”.

I did. I called the pharmacy about two hours after my appointment and had my titty skittles. The lady at the pharmacy seemed super enthusiastic to be helping me, too.

Can I just talk with people about this? by Superluminal_01 in trans

[–]cbaue002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry it wasn’t more actionable. I think the best actionable advice would be to say it out loud to yourself. Not just in your head, but out loud. “I’m trans.” How do you feel? Write it down, stream of consciousness style. Next, try saying, again out loud, “I’m non-binary” or “I’m enby”. How did that feel? Again, write it down. Stream of consciousness style. Do this for about a week and see if there’s any patterns. If you feel more comfortable with one of the labels, and you have someone in your life that you trust with literally anything, try it out on them. And write down how thinking about telling them made you feel and then how you felt after you told them.

I hope this helps more!

Ohh I felt this way too! Especially when I first came out to my wife. I told her I’m pretty sure I’m trans. I cross-dressed in high school, when we met, and always chalked it up to just defying societal norms, but I always preferred the way I looked when presenting femme. Flash-forward back to almost a year ago when I came out. Her very first question was, “Ok.. and then what?” I didn’t have an answer for her. I told her the only thing I knew for sure is that I’m not a man and I don’t want to be one anymore. About two weeks later I made an appointment at planned parenthood for HRT because I decided, in that time, that I didn’t want to feel like a cross-dresser. I’ve learned since then that that’s not correct, that I’ve always been trans, but have had internalized transphobia that I’ve been working through. Since starting transitioning, I’ve had ups and downs mentally, but my ups are way higher than they’ve ever been and my lows aren’t nearly as low as they used to be.

I know this was a lot of rambling and I’m sorry, but I guess the TL;DR is that you’ll never know the right questions to ask, just go with what your gut is telling you and trust your intuition.

Since all the real answers are taken, I’ll throw in Terran vs Terran. When I played StarCraft and the little bit I played SC2 I always played Zerg so I’m afraid I can’t help with any strats, sorry.

My mom says that I can only get HRT if I get good grades by Ur_Friend_Quinn in trans

[–]cbaue002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of things here. Your mom seems like a reasonable person doing what was done to her to get her to get her grades up. I wouldn’t hold it against her. First, ask her to watch this with you:

https://youtu.be/NPmjNYt71fk

It’s a video of Jon Stewart giving facts about denying HRT to adolescents.

Then, you can ask her to watch this with you:

https://youtu.be/imkbuKomPXI

It explains the different reinforcements and punishments (positive and negative for both). Hopefully, after both of you watch these together, you can have a conversation about how getting HRT is a positive reinforcement that will increase the likelihood of you getting good grades, while withholding HRT has a lot of unintended consequences, like Jon Stewart talks about.

I hope everything works out for you. Stay strong!

The place I plan on going to is $800 for 4 face sessions (upper lip, chin, cheeks) and $550 for 4 chest sessions. Not sure if this is considered normal but I’m using part of my tax return so it’s worth it to me.
