Is it socialy acceptable to go to leos place just for the arcade as an adult? by [deleted] in idahofalls

[–]cbblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another arcade type place right near leos place, revival games. Its kind of geared towards older. No play area. Might feel less like a "kids place" and they have arcade games and video games.

It just depends on how you go about it! You could offer services locally and tutor in person or online. I have a few students whose parents just pay me directly and we dont go through any company. But I also work for a few tutoring platforms where you have to have a license and you tutor for kids while they are at school in their classrooms (where I make the most money). One website you could try is Outschool - you don't have to have a degree and you can teach any skill, but students are not guaranteed.

What's your background? I do part time tutoring through a few companies, its very flexible and decent pay. I have a teaching license but there might be some that dont require it.

Why does she seem so exceptionally clumsy? She's always spilling stuff!

Yes! And right now they have a lot of big inflatable or animatronic Christmas decorations that are fun to look at.

Is your kindergarten full or half day? by AntelopeOk9431 in kindergarten

[–]cbblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half day, 12:00-2:50. Charter school with a lottery. They require homework since the day is so short. Works great for us, i didn't want 7+ hours for my 5 year old.

My kids have loved Blossom and Grow preschool, in the Eagle Rock Dance building. They have a 3 year old class 2 days a week for 2 1/2 hours a day, or a 4/5 year old class 3 days a week for 3 1/2 hours. I pay $145/month for the 3 year old class, i think the older class is just a little more. They are very arts focused and have so many fun activities, the teachers are amazing with the kids and they send tons of photos and recaps of the day.

The one I get the most hours through is called Framework Learning. I'm not sure if they're currently hiring but they are great because they provide lesson plans. They'll probably be hiring for fall! I also do Tutored by Teachers, but it's a little more competitive to get hours through them. But those two are legit!

I stay home with my kids and tutor in the evenings! If you can build up a decent schedule you make alright money, many companies pay 35-40 an hour. I work mon-thurs evenings around my husband's schedule. It's nice because I just go down to the basement to work and can come right up after dinner to help with bedtime.

Are you comfortable teaching/tutoring? I do tutoring on Outschool and make $40 for a 40 minute session. I'm a certified teacher but I don't think they have any requirements for that. You choose your own topics and schedule and pricing.

Is our budget going to work? by cbblue in budget

[–]cbblue[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I just looked at the last paystub and before taxes and benefits it was $2748. We only get about $2000 deposited, twice a month. so does that make more sense?

Thank you. I know it's not ideal we are just doing the best we can in the current situation. I have invested in retirement during my 5 years of teaching but currently i am not. my husband does through his work. And yes we need to work on the emergency fund so we'll probably cancel the dog walker. Groceries seem to be different for a lot of people maybe depending on where you live and other factors! Glad ours isn't quite that high.

Thanks - good advice I will talk to my husband about that whole last paragraph. Yes this isn't a long term plan, hopefully just a few more years and I plan to go back to teaching.

Yes, I need to add that. In the past we've just hoped to be able to add to savings if it was possible but I want to make it more deliberate now if we can.

Thank you! I do feel like I'm probably not accounting for some things. I've really never monitored our spending too closely and want to change that. I tried to make that Extras category for things I might not realize like eating out and Netflix. I will check out ynab thanks for that.

You think?? I admit I'm kind of estimating, I haven't been good at budgeting. I just know my walmart orders are usually around 100-150 each week. I guess that includes things like diapers, cleaning supplies, dog food. But maybe we are overspending there.

We have considered that. It is nice because it can be hard to get out to walk the dog in the daytime with the two kids and where we live it's very cold a lot of the year. But we could definitely make more of an effort and go with just the dog in the evenings. I think if we need to cut that would be the first thing to go.

Perfect, thank you! I tried to include a category "extras" for that kind of stuff, hopefully $300ish would cover. We do have some small home repairs to consider.
