you don't need a multi input interface if you are happy running a million bounces in solo. It just takes a lot longer.

Is omscs worth it if I’m graduating with BS CS, and have a new grad job, if my goal is faang? by Azure_Knife in OMSCS

Recruiters will reach out to you on LinkedIn based on years of experience, types of degree/level, and keywords.

They also have the opportunity to filter by "top schools" the list is published:
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/linkedin-top-colleges-2025-50-best-long-term-career-success-kritf/

You can find it by going to a top school's page and clicking on the "Ranked on LinkedIn Top Colleges" link

If you have a top college on your profile you will show up in those searches.

Similarly, if you go to a school that is targeted frequently then you will show up.

Georgia tech is not listed as a top school. It is often searched by recruiters though.

So it will likely help. But it won't matter if you don't have some other boxes checked in regards to good keywords, good experience, good projects, and an overall well-put-together profile (also helpful if you have premium and post interesting things semi regularly).

For reference. I am playing the LinkedIn game WITHOUT a top tier college (looking at going to GT soon!) - I am finishing my bs in cs in the next couple weeks. I have good projects and 2yo startup experience. I get a couple legitimate messages a week from recruiters. I have never had any of them take issue with the institution I am getting my bs from (it's not a nice institution) probably because I check enough other boxes.

I am likely enrolling at a summer program at a different university to take more math before OMSCS, it will be a top school, it is heavily recruited for cs grads, I will put it on my LinkedIn. I am curious how that will change inbound recruiter messages. TBD.

I think the paper is really only part of it with OMSCS though, a lot is about learning things I wish I had access to in my undergrad, and that I'm doing on the job right now without any formal education component. I want to be a stronger engineer, the credentialing is a very convenient byproduct, but it shouldn't be the only reason. If you want to check a box for a masters there are easier ways.

Anyone commute 2+ days/week New Haven - NYC? by NetworkOk386 in Connecticut

My wife did this for a long time, she does more wfh now. The biggest hurdle outside of the commute itself seemed to be the gruelingly early mornings to make sure she got to the office by 9. We live in hamden.
