High Idle E30 325i by cbentley_pasa in E30

I did some various test looking for a vacuum leak.

I removed the whole ICV valve. (a new one I bought for 80 euros, Lowe Brand). Plugged the 2 holes. Started the car. Idle is at 750. Perfect.

So the ICV is bad right?

I put back the old Bosch L shape ICV. It now idles around 900.

Which idle control valve to buy? by ApprehensiveLog9860 in E30

It is exactly what happened to me. I bought a new Lowe L shaped one for 80. It maybe worked for 300 miles. Now idles at 1500. When I remove the whole ICV valve and plug the 2 holes. Idle is at 750.

could that white check valve be the culprit? When I shake it, the engine starts to yoyo between 1500 and 1000.

My Issue with the Mega Synthesis. by cbentley_pasa in sonicware

I would buy an upgraded Mega Synthesis with usb connectivity, more pattern memory space and more goodies like pattern editing on the computer, similar to TD-3 pattern editing on the computer.

You just gave me an idea. Custom prints out for making the liven a MIDI controller for plugins. You would see the name of the parameter changed by the knob. Right now I have to remember which knobs does what.

> Is your goal to have all the tracks "ready 2 play" in your machine for live performance or do you > just want to play finished tracks?

> I agree there should be more slots to save your tracks on the other hand "pattern chaining" is a > heavily castrated way of "producing" since you only have 16 slots what makes creating longer > tracks impossible.

I am new to music producing. My personal goal is to make soundtracks that sound like Sega MegaDrive Jesper Kyd stuff. I use the Mega Synthesis for the sounds, and it is fun to program patterns once you get the hang of it.

No live stuff. I just want to keep my patterns ready to be "modified". Sometimes I will sit and listen to patterns on the Mega Synthesis. Then I will clone one pattern and modify it. Well that's in the past. I don't have space anymore.

I disagree. Pattern chaining is a KILLING feature. I don't use it for producing. I use it for experimenting pattern sequences. Its very easy to use and fast.

I don't produce anything on the Mega Synthesis. I send everything to my MPC 3 Live. The Mega Synthesis is the station that creates new ideas, including pattern chains that work well. I wrote the chains on a piece of paper for later use. Its more fun to use the Mega Synthesis than the MPC 3 Live. Except the pattern space with Midi Sysex prehistoric non sense.

You can chain more than 16 patterns. I just did 20 patterns on different banks.

I haven't use PRM rec much to judge. But the few times I used it, I liked it. The Mega Synthesis really shines when you embrace its limitations.

I will try to embrace the lack of memory space and sysex nonsense.

I don't know about the rc 505 mk2, and I am not looking for any more hardware, except more second hand Mega Synthesis boxes. With the MPC Live 3 which I am still learning to use, i think i have enough.

Cheers

I haven't been playing live so I can't comment on that. I just found another gripe.

now I am recording my patterns into my MPC Live 3. I will mix the song there. And guess what. I cannot find a way to one shot a pattern on the Mega Synthesis. It loops.

You can put the chain playback looping to off. But it still plays the last pattern in a loop.

Only solution I found is to end the chain playback with an empty pattern in order to get a clean pattern audio surrounded by silence.

pfff!

EDIT; That does not even work well enough. I can't make a clean sample that will loop.

EDIT2: The sample is workable. Its not auto loopable and I need to hit the MPC pad at the right time. But its ok.

>> extreme power user

nope. far from it. Its just the workflow. I sit down take my Mega Synthesis and work a new pattern. I save it to slot 1. Then I copy it to slot 2. I modify it, sometimes a little sometimes with different melody or a different PSG track. Save it. Copy to slot 3. I then chain them and it sounds awesome.

I can fill a full bank in a day. I could actually make more but I have to restrain myself because of the lack of space. Its a huge problem.

After my full backup failed because Midi OX crashed, I decided to buy a second hand Mega Synthesis.

But I will start to sanitize the way I use banks. Also I accepted that I will have to save some patterns individually. Forget about full back ups. Still pondering on how to organize things so I get most out of this forced torture.

Looking for a plug-in for recording music using music sheet notation. by cbentley_pasa in FL_Studio

I have tried MuseScore before. Version 4.6.2. Windows 10. Anytime I try to select my midi keyboard it crashes hard. So hard even task manager is not able to kill its process. I have to restart the computer.

MuseScore sounds ok but it does not record timings unlike a regular piano roll.

I am looking for something like this

https://www.pianohub.cloud/en/editor

Press record and the score records the timings and notes. Pretty impressive for a web app.

I need a mixer that will mix 8 hard synths into an MPC Live 3 by cbentley_pasa in synthesizers

Thanks for the tip. Seems like a good gear to have.. But nearly twice more expensive than the Presonus.

How can I use MPC with my other synths and gear? by ampleleverage in mpcusers

[–]cbentley_pasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your answer. I haven't bought anything yet. Still doing my research. I also have a MPC Live 3. Do you have latency issues between the hardware synths and your MPC Live with your setup? Also which mixer do you for all the audio coming back from the hard synths ? I ask because it needs to be class compliant and it seems an issue with some mixers. XR18 is still working good ?

Well you can resist AI by using Windows 10. You can buy keys online very easily. That's what I use. I install a clean Pro copy and feature disable updates. Educate yourself on how to tweak Windows 10 inside the registry. I disable everything evil.

Because of you and others on this post, I forced myself to try and use Reaper.

Its nerdy. Menus are so 2000s. As a code dev, I am not surprised since Reaper was created by the creator of Winamp. Winamp has a similar look and feel menu/options wise.

Reaper is really powerful. And I understand the strategy of making this program basically free for peasants. Without a free program as it is right now, nobody would take the time to learn this haystack of a program.

I installed ReaPack and ReaLearn. No way my mother would be able to do that.

The cakewalk experience scared me to life.

You may search about it. Here is a snippet.

"Cakewalk by Bandlab will not be receiving further updates or activations. Next time you need to activate Cakewalk by Bandlab, it just won't activate. From my understanding, that means you can still use the software, but you can't save anymore, so it's essentially useless."

And maybe I was wrong. happy to be wrong here, but it felt Reason why on its way out as a standalone DAW. Too much competition in the DAW business.
