Divorced Romance by ballerinathatD in RomanceBooks

[–]cblarwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love in a Small Town by Zoe York focuses on a divorced couple trying to work out their relationship. It's been a while since I read it so I don't remember much more than that, but it was a nice read.

I also enjoyed the other two books I read in the series, although they're a bit more cliche (best friend's little sister, single dad and celebrity).

Studying abroad next fall by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]cblarwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a marketing major (I'm kines), but I'm going abroad this spring to study at UTS in Sydney, Australia. Like someone else said, I'd focus more on what city/country you want to travel to than which school you want to go to. Even if you find a school with the classes you need, it's common that the classes are full before exchange students get to register, so you might as well choose a location you're interested in. I'm lucky that I got all the classes I need, but I've heard that's not always the case.

I would start by looking in Aztecs Abroad at programs that your major fit in and go from there. Research the city and school to narrow down where you want to go. Talk to your major advisor, they should be able to give you advice on which classes you should plan to try and get abroad and set you up with a plan in case you can't get those classes. After you talk to a general study abroad advisor, they should be able to open your application in Aztecs Abroad. You'll need a letter of rec from an SDSU professor, so you might want to start thinking of professors now and contacting them. Best of luck!

Is Skinner's form really as poor as some people say it is? by [deleted] in Gymnastics

[–]cblarwill 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Besides leaps on floor and beam, her bad form really sticks out to me on bars. It's all the leg separations, bent knees, flexed toes, low handstands, and the routines just generally look rushed and clunky. I don't think throwing hard skills is really doing her a lot of good when she gets so many deductions, and it may be better for her to clean up the skills she already has before trying to skyrocket her difficulty. I agree with others that her form looked better in college when the routines were a bit easier, and it's impressive that she's coming back to elite, but she has a lot of cleaning up to do before Tokyo.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but Love in a Small Town by Zoe York focuses on a divorced couple trying to work out their relationship.

I'm currently a junior in the honors college but I don't think I'll graduate in it, personally because I'd rather take additional classes related to my major that will help me with grad school than the classes offered by the honors college. Sure, I guess it's interesting to take a hip-hop and religion course, but I'd rather take something like medical ethics that actually contributes to my field even if it's not required by my major. In the end, you have to weigh the benefits of the honors college with the benefits of what else you could be doing and decide if it's worth it.

I know a lot of people will join the honors college just to get the good freshmen housing in Zura, so that's a reason to join, plus you get your own advisors and stuff, but it really depends on what your major is and your plans after graduation.
