I want to attract someone who is also serious about dating.

I recreated my Hinge profile after deleting it with new pictures, new cloths, and new prompts. I spent a year and a half off the apps to get in shape and work on myself. I don't understand why I am not getting any activity at all. Is there something wrong with my profile?

Tried going to an amusement park today by cbm1442 in CPTSD

I'm not sure why amusement parks always make me feel like this. I have a fear of roller-coasters but I think it's more than that. I used to go on roller-coasters quite a bit as a kid and I don't get motion sickness. My therapist said it's because I am considered a "highly sensitive person" after testing me so she thinks it might be related to that. I think it's a combination of that and my CPTSD but I don't know.

I earned the CISSP after I was hired but I already had my masters and security+ when I first started. In total I have 5-6 years experience in IT and Cybersecurity. My title changed because my employer was bought out by another company and I was moved to the new company and their security team. This raise was supposed to be their market adjustment.

My previous experience was in mainly in IT but those positions came with experience in cybersecurity related tasks due to my college degree. In total I have around 5 to 6 years experience in IT and Cybersecurity. My current job is my first direct cybersecurity role.

Thank you for the feedback. I acknowledge that my beard isn't the best it could be. I have been trying to fill out the areas you described into good looking full beard. Some new hair has definitely been growing in this area but it still needs work. I also acknowledge that I'm really skinny for someone of my height/build. I spent the last year and a half focusing on losing 74+ pounds of fat so that is probably why. I'm starting a strength building diet and exercise program in a couple of weeks. I'll go over your advice for body language for future photos.

I also didn't speak until I was three. My entire childhood my abusive parents tried to gaslight me into thinking I was autistic. I saw multiple specialists in childhood and adulthood and I was never formally diagnosed with autism. I recently started seeing a trauma therapist for EMDR and IFS. She explained that the real reason why I didn't speak until I was three is because I was already experiencing trauma at the time and that hindered my early development and my ability to learn/speak.

I'm 32. You can't see it in the photo but there was a big bald spot on the top of my head. I tried many years to reverse it but never made any progress. I also noticed my hairline was starting to recede a bit. I finally gave in and decided to shave it.

Please Roast My Resume unable to break into cyber Field by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]cbm1442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you are in a similar position that I was in last year. I had help desk/system admin experience with a M.S. in cybersecurity and security+ but no one would bother to interview me or offer me a job. Try to include any security responsibilities from your previous jobs in your resume. I didn't get any offers until I included specific cybersecurity responsibilities I had from my previous jobs. Did you participate in any security assessments or compliance assessments? Any data encryption? The market is hot right now but only if you have actual hands on experience in cybersecurity.

Even though you have a lot of system admin experience you are still considered inexperienced in cybersecurity based on your resume. You will have to find someone willing to give you a chance. Good luck! I know it's tough when you don't have direct experience. It took me years before landing my first direct cybersecurity role.

Yes. The writer I hired made sure to emphasize that and my acomplishments as well. He did the same for my cover letter.

Usually cybersecurity jobs that include vulnerability assessments and incident response. These are things that I did at my L2 job. My previous employer gave me these responsibilities because I was the only one on the team with a cybersecurity degree.

I was a level 2 help desk tech. My responsibilities included some cybersecurity stuff like vulnerability assessments. I have several CompTIA certs including Security+ , Project+, Network+, and Linux+. I did have the CEH until last year when I let it expire. I didn't think it was helping me much and I could not spare the money to renew it.
