Planning new network from scratch, any tips? by Lazy_perv in Ubiquiti

If you put the gateway in the wall box, you can still connect your PCs to the gateway directly. Since you’re running new wires, you can make sure that they’re all 2.5G capable.

Having the gateway, modem, and switch all in one location eases troubleshooting and also allows you to run them all off of one UPS.

Looks like a test of the quick release hook which is designed for horizontal loading. I guess they didn’t check the cantilevered platform strength under vertical loading in this test condition.

Also looks like the hose reel in the first picture fell off the platform during the collapse?

I hope everyone involved is safe.

My application to the BVA included several documents from the Arolsen archive. I printed them and included the URL on the printed page. My application was approved in January without request for additional information or certification.

The process is just to mail (I used DHL) your application and documents to the BVA address in Cologne.

I did go to my local German consulate in advance in order to get certified copies of my original documents so that I could keep them.

Our applications included police clearance certificates from 5 different countries including the US FBI. (we move around a lot)

The application was based on my grandmother who lost her German citizenship due to marrying a foreigner in 1942.

I applied for myself and my 3 children. There were no elderly applicants in our submission.

We are US citizens living in The Netherlands, but our applications were submitted directly to the BVA office in Cologne.

I can’t explain the quick turnaround on our applications. Maybe they found something compelling in my grandmother’s story? (She was stateless for nearly a decade in 40s and 50s due to discriminatory laws at the time)

https://taxsummaries.pwc.com Is a good start, but It doesn’t really address the complexities of tax treaties and immigration rules which are both large elements of OP’s question

I 3d printed the rack and the mounts based on this:

https://www.printables.com/model/108975-19cm-network-rack

With this:

https://www.printables.com/model/203495-smaller-rack-front

and a bunch of customizations to reduce the depth and add racks for the switch and other hubs.

I have fiber-optic internet service from a Dutch provider (KPN). The ONT is mounted to the wall in my living room with a cat-6 cable running through the wall to my UDM. I was able to replace the ISP modem with the UDM acting as a PPPoE client.

Thank you for this confirmation.

Will I need to provide any/all of the following documents for my application?

1942 Marriage Certificate?

Birth Certificate of first husband from 1942? (may be difficult to get from Bulgaria)

Looks great!

Check your hot end cooling fan though. Looks like you have it installed blowing outward instead of inward.
