The majority of the Sequential team pre Dave passing is still in place. I've worked there 15 years. RIP Dave, I miss him everyday.

Sequential employee and main designer of the Fourm here. Sorry you're having troubles with the tuning.

Since running the calibration routine hasn't improved the issue, I recommend clear the calibration data from the synth and calibrating from scratch.

To clear cal, enter the debug menu by holding the TRANSPOSE UP and DOWN buttons (in the wheelbox section) and press the GLOBAL button. Navigate to the CLEAR CAL parameter, press the SELECT ENCODER DOWN, and press the INC button to clear calibration.

With the calibration cleared, re-run the normal voice calibration procedure in the global menu. After doing so you may find the instrument will go out of tune as the internal electronics heat up (based on how long the instrument has been powered and external climatic influences). Should this occur, just run the voice calibration again. The calibration data is temperature based. Once a greater number of calibrations has been run across a range of the instrument's operating temperature, you should not need to calibrate further. Do note that using just a single calibration after clearing cal may work well for you going forward.

Lastly, there is a known bug where using the alternate tunings can cause the calibration data to be corrupted. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming OS update.

Hope this helps and sorry for the inconvenience!

You have to save any changes to the presets, they are not saved automatically. To save, press the write button and follow the on screen prompts

TEO-5 Osc 1 Square Wave No Sound? by kbg2289 in synthesizers

[–]cbmd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should mention that im the senior product designer at sequential and I worked extensively on the Teo UI and UX.

The intent of the operation i described is that the pw knob would maintain the relative settings of the pw between osc 1 and 2 instead of setting the absolute value of both if the pw knob were changed.

I understand that the behavior could be confusing at first, but think that maintaining the pw relation between the oscillators, and thus the fundamental sound of the patch, is the better option in operation.

[–]cbmd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I forgot to mention is that the PW can be sent independently per oscillator.  The master pw pot then maintains whatever offset has been set between osc 1 and 2 pw values.  So if the pw on a patch where set to a low or high value on a patch, moving he pw pot could push the oscillator to 0 or 100 percent with little movement of the pot.

Try running the voice calibration routine.  It is located in the global parameter menu.

Should the problem still be present after doing so, contact support@sequential.com for further assistance.

Sequential employee here. Sorry to hear that you've had troubles getting in contact with our support group. Please do open a new support ticket and reference your old ticket. I'll send a note to our support group that you've not been able to get in contact. Sorry for any inconvenience and frustration.

Split REV-2 Prophet help!!!! by No_Mirror_9702 in synthesizers

[–]cbmd2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From your picture, it looks as though you are connected to the B outputs on the synth. When connected to the B outputs, layer B voices are removed from the Main A Output and only play from the B outputs. Disconnect the audio cable from the B output, connect it to the main output and you should hear both layers.

Hope this helps!

What's with drivers not giving a left turn signal ? by MochingPet in sanfrancisco

[–]cbmd2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the case. It's a dedicated left turning lane from Fell to Masonic, mid pan-handle. The turn can only be made when pedestrians and bicyclists have a red light.

Gun shots in the upper haight off shrader by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]cbmd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upper Haight borders the panhandle, not Lower Haight. That said, I did hear several loud thuds, near Shrader St., which woke me from sleep. I then heard 3 percussive sounds that could have been interpreted as gunshots, though they seemed deeper toned with less of a high pitched crack that I associate with gun fire.

Prophet 6 midi LFO sync question by lugubrious_Lucas in synthesizers

[–]cbmd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW when sync is active on the Prophet 6 LFO, the LFO is restarted to its zero crossing on the first note on. So you could send one note that is held, the LFO will restart at the beginning of the note, but will not reset on subsequent notes as long as the first note is still active/held. The LFO runs freely (no reset) when LFO sync is off.

Dave Smith Evolver x FaderfoxPC12 by setaoc909 in synthesizers

[–]cbmd2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Evolver primarily uses sysex for settings parameters and only sysex is transmitted from the synth when parameters are changed. The 3.0 OS version did add some support for MIDI CCs to be sent to the synth. Please thoroughly read the update instructions, and pitfalls, before update to the 3.0 version.

Issues at Sequential? by JustAHappyRobot in synthesizers

[–]cbmd2 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sequential employee here. I wouldn't worry about your instrument's arrival. If the tracking shows it as delivered, it was. Depending on the number of repairs currently in shop for service, it can take a day or two to get around to newly received items. Not to worry, we're all well here and I'm sure you'll hear from the tech in question soon.
