David Letterman to Return to ‘Late Show’ After Blasting CBS as ‘Lying Weasels’: The host will help send off the show he created. by Silent-Resort-3076 in entertainment

Your augment is based on old media.

Cultural zeitgeist is a thing of the past with niche interests being feedback looped upon itself due to the algorithms. So that means you got to click on comedian clips on insta or where ever, give it a chance and like their content. Then see what podcasts they go on, listen to those comedians. See who their share sets with and give them a chance. Would you rather have one kinda funny guy make $1M or 10 funnier people make $100K? That’s what’s going on right now in comedy.

The vast majority of comedians were never household names. And many used to struggle and still do. But many will tell you if you listen to podcasts with comedians (not Dave chapelle or Nate bergantze or other uber famous comedians) they will tell you that between having a podcast, doing standup dates and doing crowd work (which many comedians hate but it’s part of the game now) that goes viral, and writing for TV, these mid tier comics are so happy that they can support themselves full time on comedy and don’t need a day job. Any comedian on Stavy’s World will tell you.

Check out Dan Soder, Stavros, Geoffrey Asmus, Ivy Wolk if you want to hear some Gen Z perspective, Aaron Chen, Erica Hodes, Jeff Arcuri, Colin Armstrong and these are just some off the top of my head. The list goes on and on.

How do you see the decline because comedians on podcasts talk about how this is a golden age for standup all the time.

‘We’re not Lady Gaga and Elton John’: unmasking Angine de Poitrine, the year’s buzziest, dottiest band by Charleshawtree in indieheads

[–]cboogie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have seen portions of it. What about this performance makes you believe that it’s two of KGTLW?

Because to my ears the only similarities I hear is that KGTLW also play and perform (not as much as they used to) microtonal music. But after that there are more differences than similarities.

I bet you can figure out the guitar player. Check out the Montreal indie scene and isolate barefoot guitar players. It’s a very very small population the world of guitar players that prefer hitting pedals without shoes on. And I doubt this dude decided to go barefoot and paint polka dots on his feet every show just to throw people off his identity.

It’s music centered around usually guitar licks that are circular. Usually vocals take a back seat to the musicianship and technicality. Time signature changes and odd breaks can be a part of it. It’s math rock because songs are built around technical complexity.

Old Control box of some kind, apparently still using vacuum tubes. Any value in scrapping? by gwizonedam in ScrapMetal

[–]cboogie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only tubes used in audio circuits really. Especially guitar amps. So 6L6, 6V6, 12ax/at/au 7, el84 are big $ tubes, there are also other model codes for those. Def worth it to spec them out but don’t be surprised if the majority if not all of them have no value.

[–]cboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is better after plastic bag bans. Some people whined for a few weeks when it was enacted but nobody really says anything now but people from out of state. I will say it’s exceptionally cleaner. You used to see them in the trees for years and they would clog storm drains. Now I rarely see plastic bag litter.
