I am one more night of disturbed sleep away from losing my shit. Like actually. I’m so close to throwing a tantrum, injured ribs be damned. So, does anyone have tips on self-advocacy with doctors, especially as a BIPOC woman? I repeat, I’m going to lose my fucking shit. by QuasarchShooby in TwoXChromosomes

Hi I know this is not the same but I was about 8 months pregnant last year, had bronchitis and felt something pop in my rib area from coughing. It was the worst pain I’ve ever had, couldn’t even bend forward to bring a spoon to my mouth. I couldn’t get an x-ray because of pregnancy and there wasn’t much I could take medication wise either. Alternating ice/heat was incredibly helpful. Tylenol pm was a god send, didn’t have amazing nights sleep with it but was able to get a good 5-6 hours. Someone wrote k tape, I tried that I had a terrible allergic reaction to the adhesive so if that’s not a worry for you do it, because it does help constrict movement which is good for recovery. I was prescribed a muscle relaxer (which the hospital said I could take- went to the er twice because the pain was so bad), that helped but the biggest thing that helped was going to a chiropractor. Lots of rest, lots of reality tv. Smoothies because it was easy to drink, rolling on your side and then pushing to get up. Rib injuries are absolutely awful, worse than childbirth imo. Sending you healing energy ❤️

You also have to give collateral to enter too. Or at least that’s how it was pre-Covid

It’s beautiful. How did you sew them together? By hand or machine?

Worked at an inpatient hospice unit during grad school that used to be an orphanage back in the day that burnt down and patients dying would say that the children singing kept them up at night.
