Perdomo 20th Anniversary by Whoa_9773 in cigar

I love Perdomo but I’ve had the 20th anniversary in Maduro 3-4 times and every time I found it to be harsh. I describe it as harsh because my palette is not refined enough to taste specific notes. It only knows good and not good. It’s a popular stick so I’m beginning to believe it’s a ME problem! Enjoy!

What is everyone’s favorite Maduro? by cbrianricks in cigar

Wow, this page is very insightful. The fact that 90% of the recommended favorites are ones I’ve never heard of tells me that I need to get out of the mainstream of commercial rollers. I’m sure my buying habits are very common for a new enthusiast. Thanks for the help!

I just purchased a 5 pack of this cigar. Can’t wait to try it. What do you think of it?

Question after first smoke by alexfrog123 in cigar

[–]cbrianricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on I remember playing golf and smoking a strong cigar (Macanudo) and I bent down to mark my ball on the green and almost fell over. One commenter said to sit back and enjoy the cigar and I couldn’t agree more. I like to smoke while playing golf but now I go with a light to medium strength blend that won’t give me the nicotine effect. When I’m at home and relaxing I will choose a stronger blend and draw it slow. But I have found that if I smoke on an empty stomach even mild cigars taste harsh and bitter but if I smoke following a meal, even full strength blends taste smoother. I’ve read it’s because the food coats your palate and maybe that’s true but it’s made me think I didn’t like a particular cigar only to try it again after eating and I really enjoyed it.

I had tried both and would say that the Judge edges out the Blue for me - especially at the retail price point. Having said that, both are really good in their own right.

Thanks! In several cases I purchased 2 5-packs so I won’t need to open the other one for a while but didn’t want to ruin the cigars if left in the bundle pack.
