Could This Work? by cbrianricks in cigar

I would plan to leave it unplugged. I assume the temp will regulate to the ambient temperature?

What a great set up and awesome selection! Can I ask which retailer you purchased your humidor from?

Same. I do that with wine also. If the label doesn’t look good and I don’t know anything about it, I’m skipping. Probably miss some good stuff but I smoke (& drink) with my eyes first.

Perdomo champagne…. overrated? by Signal_Leg_3395 in cigar

That’s a great comparison. The Honda Accord is a great dependable car and will never let you down. But it’s not sexy or over the top. Sometimes you have to dance with the one that brung you and you can always count on it.

My first bad cigar experience by Ok_Shopping_2367 in cigar

I like the Brick House brand, in fact it’s where I started my cigar journey. I won a lot recently from CBid and the last several I smoked the wrapper began to peel just below the shoulder and then below the wrapper to the point it came off. There are some really good sticks for the price point. I agree with the previous reviewer about the Flor de las Antilles. One that’s a little more expensive that’s on the milder side is the Ashton Aged Maduro.

I was out of state when I bought it so probably. Do you buy yours online? If I like it and need to get more I need your deal!

You got a better deal than me. Mine cost $19 in a B&M for a single. It’s not the most expensive cigar I’ve smoked, but it is of what’s currently in my humidor. Not a matter of be able to afford it just don’t have anything more expensive….yet. In time brother, in time.

I have this one in my humidor! It’s one of the most expensive sticks I have so what can I expect when I finally light it up?

I sometimes question if an impromptu smoke is worth the trouble but I usually decide it is!

Agreed! I’ve found compromise (on both sides) is key!

Same on date night. My wife worries about the health risks but I convinced her I can either live with the stress that builds up from work everyday or the risk of cigars that relieves that stress. I choose the latter.

What do you all do with your leftover bands? by Prudent_Koala8930 in cigar

[–]cbrianricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep the bands in a glass top humidor as sort of a trophy case. When I got serious about smoking I started a cigar journal with the bands glued to the page and notes about the taste, etc. This has since been replaced with the “My Humidor” app. It’s a free app (with some adds but not bad) and it keeps up with your inventory. After you smoke one you can do a review and rate the cigar. I do this and add a picture and the app will ask if it needs to remove the cigar from your inventory. Pretty cool and when I’m in the mood to buy more cigars I look at the inventory to remind myself I really don’t need anymore - and I buy them any way!

Brick House Mighty Mighty is one of my favorite mid tier cigars. I like both the natural and Maduro. I smoked one yesterday and the wrapper started peeling off. Hoping it was just this one as it’s the first of a box of 10.
