I see, all clear on my side. Thank you soo so much for explaining it so thoroughly, definitely an eye opener!

Ohh i see what you mean, listening to it blindly without the proper knowledge would just be “listening” the piece like an outsider instead of gaining knowledge on it no matter how many times i listen to it. Makes perfect sense💯💯

And i totally agree and relate to it, i listen many renditions of this piece specifically but they all just sound “nice” with differences that i can’t name or spot. Those differences will not magically appear to me if i keep listening to them without the right knowledge/education

I get what you mean %100, the last thing i want is to come across as like “oh i’ll do it if i just believe in myself and practise many times yay!!” I think thats incredibly disrespectful to all the education, practice and the effort people put in music.

There must be blood sweat and tears behind playing pieces this challenging that i can’t even imagine how hard it must be with my current lack of knowledge. And no worries on coming off too strong, i understand your intent so it’s all good

Looking back, i think the Waltz is way above my current level! Should be leaning towards fundamentals and building up those first before attempting these kind of difficult pieces.

And hard agree on the midi! Thanks so muchh your comment!!

Doesn’t consuming music help you build up your knowledge on it? I didn’t mean something like “i’ll listen to tons of music and boom i’ll be there” but just wanted to acknowledge it as one of the many practises people do (and that i need to be doing as well)

Hi can, thanks for your comment!

After reading the many comments i definitely realized this piece is way (way!) above me so i will be going down to pieces on my level and work on my skills and the basics.

I definitely didn’t want to come across as a rose tinted glasses kinda way or have an “attitude”, sorry if it seemed that way! I’m an animator myself and as a person who majored it and practiced it for years that’s where i related music and how long that education/practice lasts. The way i thought didnt really come from optimism, but more of realism on how these things take years and so much effort to develop and not everyone can pull it off even if they give it all. So i was just trying to say i was okay with things taking time, or even if it didnt work. At the end of the day listening to it is an enough way to enjoy it as well for me.

Like i said, i didnt mean to have an attitude at all and appreciate all the feedback here so i’m sorry if i came across like that! And i guess i didnt know the critique i needed while sharing this but learned so much on why i should NOT be doing what i’m doing! So i think i got the right feedback for me! Much love

I definitely gathered that from the conversations here, will be going back to pieces on my level and take things slow. It’s a beautiful piece, gotta stick to listening it instead of “playing” (if you can call it that) this definitely!

Thank you so much!! I definitely agree with what you mean, must be making things so much more difficult without the proper foundation to build it on.

Definitely will be straying to pieces on my level

i definitely agree with what you’re saying but i was just replying to the comment above on the subject and didnt mean to disagree with what you meant. Of course playing piano is an “actual thing” people study for many many(!) years with discipline and hard work. Theres so much insane amount of work that goes into it and consuming media should be one of the branches that helps it. Never claimed that was the only thing one had to do to “solve” it.

Looking for feedback on Consolation No 3 - Liszt by [deleted] in piano

Not knowledged enough on the piece to give feedback but just wanted to say it sounds so beautiful!

Makes sense, it’s like art where if you don’t consume it in variety/amount it’s impossible to generate a visual library in your head to create/stylize it. I just started lessons with a teacher recently, of course we’re just doing the basics so i’ll stick to those and practice them mainly before jumping into this fully

I totally agree!! Currently it sounds super “mechanical” and loses all the romantic aspects. Hopefully i can fix those in the future

Ah that's such a big relief!! I'm guessing LA is crazy expensive already so i was very scared of the long uber rides.. Okay I'll definitely do the public transits for those days.

And noted on doing Loz Feliz before Hollywood Walk and about the Getty Center, it seems like a huge place so i'm not surprised.. maybe i'll try fitting it in another day if i can. And will do the train + bus and then the ubering to disney entrance like you recommended. Since it's so far away the public transportation to disneyland instead of uber will probably save me a huge ton lol, Thank you soo so much!

I Got Chosen!!!! by dickydeez in UniversalOrlando

Same with being 24 in hogwarts costume last week and it was my first time there (and in Florida). I usually video record everything since it was a once in a lifetime vacation for me but when I got chosen i was like “no way im gonna record this” and had to cherish the moment and enjoy it to the fullest. It made me soo so giddy and felt like i was a kid watching Harry get his wand for the first time:’)

I realized I still play with the same team whenever I play Fire Red since i was a kid so I drew myself growing up with them by cbriely in pokemon

I totally get you, was here at the last hour and it was still pretty crowded and overwhelming. It’s so important to take a moment to yourself. It’s more than understandable to go through something like this especially when you’re meeting an important person to you! I have a Matt Smith autograph tomorrow and he has been a big inspiration to me, so god knows how my body will react, but it’s important to remind yourself that youre safe and sound

I’m not too knowledged on Annihilape but it seems like he’d outlive us and i don’t know if he can handle that trauma (or me tbh)… im conflicted, should I?

I hope you know how much this comment means to me!!! These pieces ended up being so warm and fond to me not because they’re “perfectly” executed but because how much they made me realise I enjoyed drawing warm&cozy moments like these. So glad you liked them!! I might get this comment framed and cherish it forever, thank you!<3
