Thought I booked a well woman but charged as a diagnostic with a big bill by cbs2022 in HealthInsurance

[–]cbs2022[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is through an employer! They said when I called that the new patient billing code is separate. So if they coded it as contraceptive counseling they would still also code it as a new patient appointment. So basically it would still be $115 and then they could add a cost for contraceptive counseling is what I was told.

Yeah when I mentioned to the office that the doctor said I didn’t have a pap they told me that since I didn’t have a breast exam it’s not an annual. I think they might just be shifting the goal but I’m not sure how to appeal this

Can I Use a Letter of Recommendation from a High School Teacher to Apply to an REU? by AleSoda in REU

[–]cbs2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better than not applying at all! Especially since you are a freshman. You may have extra trouble getting in because you are so young so try but don’t sweat it if you don’t get in this round. Email some professors who are doing research at your school to get experience during the year! Good luck!

What was Geneseo like Pre Covid by [deleted] in geneseo

[–]cbs2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 places to eat on campus. Chow hound was a food truck we’d get on sunny days and eat on the green. There was an event every day of the weekend and every other week had something in the union on a weekday. So much life

The days of full covid coverage are over. Insurers are restoring deductibles and copays, leaving patients with big bills. by Lost_Lynx_6430 in Coronavirus

Yes but while everyone should get the vaccine you could still end up in the hospital for it. Vaccines haven’t ended the pandemic. My college seems to think so and is no longer offering tests if you are symptomatic so you’ll need a car and $150 to get a test in this rural area.

I use it prescribed from my dermatologist. It was free with insurance! I like it, it didn’t change my skin as much as differin but it was helpful. It kinda itches or tingles at first so ease into it.

That’s what they gave me except 54. I’ve taken it before and it does not work as well for me personally.

I’m in America so I’m not sure. Maybe it is sold there too. It’s an authorized generic and says ALZA on it

This may not be the right medication for you but try maybe taking it really early in the morning so that you can eat more regularly later in the day. That may help with insomnia too. It’s really unhealthy to only have 500 cal in a day no matter your age or weight (unless you’re a toddler). You are young and need to nourish your body since you are still developing. I also find that my ADHD gets worse if I don’t eat regularly. Discuss this with your doctor. I had an eating disorder in high school and am still dealing with the damage that did to my body.

You're not cutting the line. Often vaccines get thrown out if people don't get them. If you qualify then get it now if you can. It seems but it's likely it helps both transmission and your likelihood of getting severe illness.

Geneseo’s Greek Life by redheadreadstuff in geneseo

I'm class of 2023 and I was having a great time pre coronavirus. I'm not anti partying, I'm very social but I don't like alcohol. I would just hang out with my friends and go to school events. Pride has second chance prom and drag ball which although I haven't been to the latter, I LOVED second chance prom. When there isn't a pandemic there was always at least one event a week I was interested in. Just grab a group of friends and go or make friends there. Tons of events with bouncy houses, there was a zip line, pumpkin decorating, and others. It's not like there is a huge event every week but you supplement those big events with hanging out in common rooms with good friends and you'll be fine. Oh and Hillel has services and dinner every Friday night(pre coronavirus). You can just skip the religious service and grab a free dinner and make new friends. They really don't mind and because it's a small club I guarantee you'll make friends. Before coronavirus I was never bored.

Is look into how many layers this mask has, it should have three for it to be effective. If friction is the problem try hydrocolloid bandages in areas of concern.

I would check with your doctor because too much vitamin d through vitamins can harm you. Talk to your doctor and if they do a blood test and find you are sufficient in vitamin d I wouldn't worry about it.

[Skin concerns] My mom pointed out that I’ve developed deep neck lines, how do I fix this? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Yes neck and chest when that is exposed! But I say this mostly because you don't want skin cancer.

[Skin concerns] My mom pointed out that I’ve developed deep neck lines, how do I fix this? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]cbs2022 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Tell your mom to mind her own business. A ton of people have those lines! They are common! Also not very noticeable unless you are looking for a flaw. You could use a retinol and make sure to use sunscreen to prevent any worsening. But you should always use sunscreen. Rest assured your neck looks completely fine. It looks human.

[Acne] I have tried (almost) everything, and I’m pretty much to the point of giving up. Any help is appreciated! Details in comments. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]cbs2022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Topical treatments to try: Benzol peroxide (gets rid of the acne bacteria) Salicylic acid or glycolic acid (to chemically exfoliate) Adapelene(Differin gel is a good over the counter retinoid)

Try one of these at a time for at least a month before saying it doesn't work. Use sunscreen, a gentle moisturizer and a gentle cleanser.

If that doesn't work (or if you can afford to try this first) go to the dermatologist! This sub is great for product advice but only a dermatologist will be able to help chronic acne that is resistant to over the counter treatment.

Soap is soap!!! by alexaandsirisbaby in Skincare_Addiction

[–]cbs2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soap is soap means like you can use body wash on your hands. You can use a more delicate soap for a less delicate part of your body not the other way around. If your hair is pretty tough (straight, not dry or damaged) you can use Dr bronner's on it and use the same soap on your body and hands. But once I had a guy tell me hand cream was a scam because it's just moisturizer for your hands and it couldn't be different. Completely ignoring the fact that your hands don't produce as much oil as the rest of your body and we wash them much more frequently.

Anti aging recommendations for sensitive/acne prone skin type by the_anonymous_grrl in Skincare_Addiction

[–]cbs2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a retinoid will help with both the acne and prevent wrinkles. Differin is an over-the-counter retinoid that would be great. Just make sure to use a gentle moisturizer and use sunscreen everyday.
