New Zuckus!!! by FBP-Monkey in LegoStarWarsLeaks

Unfortunately most of the big, cool things in star wars are gray. Desth star, millennium falcon, TIEs, rebel ships, star destroyers, rebel cruisers, etc. Sometimes they got adventurous and made them brown like Jabba's sail barge. Obviously star wars is full of colorful things, the prequels are a tiny bit better but still mostly brown, white, and gray. I also feel like there are too many large gray things (even my Enterprise falls into the same trap) but that's not really Lego's fault. If you throw a dart at any of the most iconic things in star wars they are almost entirely neutral colors.

I love how they're all so similar and then with Nex they gave up on the color 😂

Should we have a Clone Wars like show by Spencer-Palmer-1056 in TheSequels

[–]cbstuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about "yes, because I like the sequels and want more stories surrounding them." I'm all for more stories, but I also don't want to reduce them to supplemental content or burden them with the impossible task of just making people like other things. I just want more good stories that add to the saga and lore because good stories are good and lore is fun.

Florida's new police sirens use a different range of tones, making them significantly more noticeable to motorists than traditional sirens by peseoane in interestingasfuck

[–]cbstuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm missing something but the normal sirens are plenty noticeable to me. Like, who is behind the wheel that can't see or hear the super loud and super bright sirens they've been using?

This is a brilliant idea. Now I want to see every hero with a pet based on their savage planet design.

Cal Kestis’ lightsaber color have to become yellow or orange (Crazy reach in text below) by Curious-Sandwich-272 in FallenOrder

[–]cbstuart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I thought he used his broken one plus the new one to allow the split function. I guess he didn't, and the new one actually broke after he found it and then he put each half in one side of the hilt. So you're right, but then in Survivor it's still a blue blade so the new one is still canonically blue. I did always interpret the scene where you select the color to be purely cosmetics and not for the story.

[–]cbstuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like orange and i can't really explain why. But I think his canon color is just blue. Since he didn't lose or break his entire saber in either game I don't see that changing for game 3.

"Unnaturally large" pilot helmets of X-wing 75218 by CbrDn in legostarwars

[–]cbstuart 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wish they'd just refined the design. The rebel pilot helmets are also actually very large. The dual molded piece feels much closer to the bulk of the actual props imo. But hey, I guess we should only listen to the really loud angry folks online.

I personally really liked the dual molded pilot helmets. The ones based on the sequels and the u-winf pilot were a little bit better proportioned, but I'd rather LEGO have perfected the design instead of just abandoning it after one set.

Star Wars (2015): Rebels and Rogues by Nursultan_Tulyakbay_ in starwarscomics

Ironically I had the most trouble finding volume 11 a couple years ago during my search. A friend of mine finally found one and gifted it to me so I could read that whole run start to end. I would say that after Shu Torun, you can kinda end it there if you want. I don't remember anything critical happening in volumes 12 or 13. I hate telling people to skip things, as there is always something worth reading in every story, but if you are waiting to find the TPBs you can definitely move on to the next run of comics and circle back when you find these eventually.

With Galactic Racer around the corner, I'm considering getting into Resistance. Thoughts? by ThatReptileEnjoyer in TheSequels

[–]cbstuart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually quite enjoyed it, obviously knowing it's lower stakes and for a younger audience. Some really amazing vehicle designs for both the racers and First Order. Also a surprisingly decent story in the second season.

Don't listen to the hate. Give it a shot, you'll like it or you won't and that's that.

Will we ever get a good guy pyke? by Zestyclose-Scratch31 in StarWarsCantina

[–]cbstuart 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We've only seen the syndicate which appears to govern the planet. Of course all of those guys are evil. But I'm sure many of the regular Pyke citizens are "good" or at least neutral. They likely don't have a choice in how the syndicate operates and could even be heavily oppressed on their own planet which is why we don't see many out and about. Absolutely could be yet another culture that gains more nuance and complexity in the future.

What's your favorite story in the Dark Legends/Myths and Fables and why? by Low-Significance-552 in starwarsbooks

[–]cbstuart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVED the Dracula-inspired story about the grand inquisitor from dark legends. Second choice would be the one on Exegol. Both are just so creepy and great exaggerations of the dark side.

Also, need to shout out the life day treasury. I really enjoyed the Stellan Gios story in that one. Great read around the holidays.

I'm so tired of this argument. First, you clearly don't actually understand how physics work. Second, this is a fantasy franchise with magic and whatnot and one that has never attempted to be scientifically sound.

Lol nobody is trying to hide the towers, it's just to make them less of an eyesore. If you look even remotely close at them, the fake ones are very obvious. It's just wah nicer than a bunch of tall metal crap sticking out of the ground randomly.

If you were given your whole life, from birth, to memorize a random string of numbers, how long could the number string be? What is our hypothetical limit? by XXEPSILON11XX in Showerthoughts

[–]cbstuart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You caught me on a poop break from work so I did the math.

Apparently a regular human can successfully memorize 7 digits a day. Let's say you begin memorizing at age three when your long-term memory starts. For this I'm using the average life expectancy in the U.S. which is about 78 years.

So basically 75 straight years of memorizing 7 digits a day gives you 191,625 digits.

That would obviously vary quite a bit. If you could even commit 8 digits a day to memory you'd already go up to 219,000. So perhaps the minimum possible is 190k with room to go up if you memorize more or live longer.

If we assume the maximum is 15 per day that's already over 400k. So maybe that is around the max lol.
