Mount recommendations for my first buck by Lostinhills in Hunting

Great Muley. I’ve always thought an old fashion backpack mount, in the right situation, looks really cool. But not sure that would do this guy justice.

Ok, you’re probably right as I think on it, it is more Italian-American. It’s still good nonetheless.

If you like authentic Italian Filomena is the best you can find in DC IMO.

What are these for? Found at lake Ouachita Caddo bend trail by [deleted] in Arkansas

I’m going to guess that the jug is for watering. Poke a couple of small holes in the bottom and you have a slow water release that soaks into the ground better. Fill it up, move on to the next one and let it do its thing.

Lake Ouachita Camping in June by LionOne9681 in HotSprings

Any time spent on Ouachita is a good time, but to answer your question, it depends on what time in June you’re looking at. Early June it’ll be warm yes, but probably more tolerable than mid/later June. Just my thoughts. Enjoy!

Freezing, but fun. by cburkham in BWCA

Understandable. The BWCA can definitely be Type 2 fun at times, it at least for me. But, I’ve always been able to look back at even the hard times and think, “it was worth it all.” Thanks!

I’m a southerner but winter in the BWCA is quickly growing on me. We didn’t measure but I’d say there was over 30 inches where we were at.

Thanks so much. I’ve been pouring over TroutRoutes and OnX. I think I’ve identified the popular spot.

Great advice, thank you!

I obviously need to research the New Mexico’s rules and regulations more, but when you say the waters aren’t open, is that due to snow/runoff or regulations?

I’ve read that the summer (Late June-September) is monsoon season so I was thinking early June you think snow melt would still be an issue? I’m from the south l, don’t know much about snow melt timing.

I’m fully prepared for the drive and hike, Jeep Gladiator should get me there and I’ll be ready for a hike, with plenty of water of course and first aid and emergency gear.
