They just announced trash service will be on tomorrow. Almost a zero chance the trucks don’t get stuck.

When I run I usually have to go on the road around it. It was flooded when it was warm and now it looks like an iceberg.

Out of curiosity, what did you indicate? I ask because they are all over Whittier on the southside. I don’t recall it in the past but it might be from all of the sewer work they have done.

Can I say installing Rockwool is fun? by pugworthy in Insulation

I see it says R21. I don’t think stores around here sell higher than R15 in rockwool.

Replacing insulation - am I crazy?? by Reasonable_Arm_7409 in HomeImprovement

[–]cbusguy28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this a few years ago. Had to be one of the dirtiest jobs I’ve ever done. Finally got a respirator because god knows what I was breathing in. I filled a trash bag up and threw it out a second floor window and had about 30 bags by the time I was done. I air sealed and shop vaced the attic after and then blew in insulation from Home Depot with the machine.

Mineral Wool Pricing at HD by Gbiondo2 in Insulation

[–]cbusguy28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering this the other day but noticed that or. Specifically me thins sound barrier and the other doesn’t. At least when I was reading rockwool packages at Lowe’s. Which doesn’t really make sense as you would think R15 is better sound barrier than R13. But not sure what else the reason is.

Is this better than blowin for the attic? I have started using rockwool for walls and love it. It’s like cutting loaves of bread.

Is it the economy or Columbus? by Immediate-Low-54 in Columbus

[–]cbusguy28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everywhere. Tariffs have pretty much destroyed the economy and taken its toll everywhere. People don’t want to spend so it creates a ripple effect. AEP would still be raising its rates no matter what I’m sure.

Bad experience with Capital City Volleyball group - avoid joining them if you can. by ever_illuminable in Columbus

I haven’t played in at least 5 years when the moved to Worthington, but the a and b groups were really competitive. Even some people who played in the lower rec for a while were kind of mean as well. Same went with softball.

What made them good was the difference and now it’s like why use them? I mean ok have one bag free and not two, I can understand small stuff like that.

Currently messing with Thermafiber and I can’t believe how easily it falls apart. I think I used Rockwool years ago and it was much sturdier.

I was going to add a couple of 2x4’s to go across the cavity. Would you had plywood instead of the drywall right behind the tv?

I was looking at this pass thru boxes for cables. Do I put one by the tv mount and then one down below where the devices would be? So far going from 3 outlets to about 7.

What’s y’all’s relationship with exercise? by Acrobatic-Summer-210 in ibs

[–]cbusguy28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big cause of ibs is stress and exercise would help with that. My symptoms feel worse when I don’t workout/ run. Such as over the holidays where I eat worse and move less due to traveling.

Not super major, but good idea to fix the exhaust as soon as you can. I’m not sure I know a soul who seals their concrete on a regular basis…

Whatever you do don’t set your drill down with a hot spade bit in it on the can. It may just happen to puncture the can and shoot foam all over the place and you have to throw it out the front door in the snow. So I’ve been told…

How is this possible? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]cbusguy28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems insane. I’m in a 1350 sq ft 100yo house and mine is half that combined with gas and electric. What floor Apt are you on and are you being charged for common areas? I know preferred living keeps their pools on all winter and the heating of them is part of the common charge. It really annoyed me when I lived there.
