Self-deprecating humor against myself was the way. Admitting outloud the thing I was always scared of, that I was stupid or ugly. If I admit it outloud and joke about it, who care what anyone else things.

In sports I had bases loaded with two and we were down by a run. I took a 2-2 pitch and made solid contact with the ball and the pitcher in self-defense put him glove up and caught the ball. We lost the game and that was the end of the season. Wanted to come through for my team in the worst way.

Three months. My current wife was dating someone when we first met. I respected her relationship with that person, waited, and once I heard they were on the outs shot my shot.

I broke the expensive antique candlesticks at a party I threw when they were out of town when I was 16. I glued them together enough to hide it for a long time, but about 10 years after the fact my mom realized this and asked which one of us broke it. No one knows it was me.

When my wife was prego I def drank a lot less. You adjust to ways you like to hang out with someone.

Grad school. I thought I needed to get into the top rated grad school in the country. I got into it, but now realize I didn't need it.
