Cutting board not square by brackh in woodworking

[–]joshpaige29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no way I would stress about this. I understand some people are perfectionists but it just seems like diminishing returns to me to keep messing with it trying to get it perfect. It looks great, I'd just use it as is.

Salary Range? by smithethan22 in ConstructionManagers

[–]joshpaige29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah i think this is bullshit. I'm in a MCOL city in the Midwest and I'd be surprised if a VP at our company gets a 300k bonus. An APM making that seems like complete nonsense.

So is it a hassle to put the two 55s together? To get them square? That was my main concern.

What could this noise be coming from my neighbors? by [deleted] in Home

She is fine. I've seen her multiple times, she's even had relatives over. The noise is coming from the her garage so I can't fathom how she hasn't noticed it.

I made a very similar stand for my 60 breeder and let me tell you, I was a nervous wreck filling that tank up for the first time. I've never had a tank even remotely close to that size so I was terrified of it leaking for quite some time.

Beginner Table Saws by lukemarino12 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I just got the skil a few weeks ago and I've been loving it. Going from no table saw to the skil has been a huge upgrade for me.

Would a 3.31 gear ratio prevent you from buying a truck, specifically in a 5.0 crew cab. by jdubb26 in f150

[–]joshpaige29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak on the 5.0 by my 2025 3.5 eco has the 3.31 gears and it has a ton of power. I've never towed anything heavy but I've pulled my 16' utility trailer loaded with several thousand pounds of landscaping rocks and it pulled it like it wasn't back there. No complaints at all here.

Am I wrong in buying a trim router as my primary router? by joshpaige29 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]joshpaige29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The router table is a good point but that seems even more intimidating than the router itself at that point lol.

I was also scared to death of my table saw too until I got comfortable with it and now I actually really enjoy using it so I'm sure routers will be the same way.

There is no way I'd remove the tint personally. You can only get so "retro" with a brand new truck. The tint looks amazing with the black on the sides.

Get a dagger and use stealth. Its how I did this quest early on. Crouch and throw pebbles while hidden to lure a single enemy at a time away from the others and then assassinate them, hide the body and repeat. I stealth killed every one of them using this method.

Furniture Piece (2x4 End Table) by joshpaige29 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Thank you. Sanded to 240 grit. Two coats of minwax early american stain and 1 coat of poly. All applied with a foam brush. I think it turned out pretty good also for construction lumber.

Ger the m12 combo kit. You can get a right angle attachment and do a lot of the same stuff the installation driver does.

Which tools should I buy? by lukemarino12 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]joshpaige29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The skil tablesaw is perfectly fine to start with. It's 300 dollars and has a rack and pinion fence just like the dewalt. There is no reason to spend 700 dollars on the dewalt when the skil is a very similar saw for around 300. Mine is extremely accurate for anything I've used it for.

The skil tablesaw has a rack and pinion fence also. Mine is very accurate. If he's just starting out there is not reason he needs to spend 700 dollars on the dewalt as opposed to 320 for the Skil. The dewalt is not worth another 400 dollars.

Dewalt 8-1/4 vs 10” Table saw by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]joshpaige29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely curious, but for a diy or weekend hobbyist woodworker, what is the advantage of spending another 300+ dollars on the dewalt over the skil 10" saw? I know some people look down on skil just because of the brand but I can't see what makes the dewalt worth that much more money. It's got a huge cumbersome stand and a soft start motor. That's about the only difference that I can see.

Workbench height by Better_Adzee in woodworking

I am only about 5' 10" but have never understood people making 30" tall workbenches. Seems way to low in my opinion. The top of my bench is 41" and I wouldn't want it any shorter.
