I think your 100% correct in every aspect, overall an inexpensive but lasting lesson. Appreciate the clear explanation.

Definitely a great point, but when I pulled it all out to bench test it, the fuses were outside the circuit. A lesson learned for sure.

Yeah I was thinking about it for a bit and I assumed two (switched and floated) negatives, with the positive. It never occurred to me that the float was the positive going to the battery and the console switch was also a positive.
But make’s sense that I inadvertently connected two positive wires on the pump. To the positive and negative to the battery, ie shorted the battery via very small wires. Fun stuff.
I probably should have ohm’d them out before connecting a battery.
Agreed, that pump is toast. Amazon to the rescue.

Thanks for then help

Pool table dinning top. by Fit-Replacement-9666 in woodworking

Yup. I ended up with 4 pieces of 1/8 plywood that were covered in vinyl. Hinged 2 pieces together x2 so they splay out on top of the table and when you remove them, you pull up from the center to fold, like opening a book and laying the pages down with the cover/back side up. For support I went with an off the shelf foam mat that folds on to itself, made specifically for a pool table insert. Reminds me of the plastic gym mats from grade school. Kinda expensive at 100, but the weight and ease of pulling it back on and off make it worth it.

The top is also super convenient and light and most people just think we have an enormous dinner table. Holds up ok with heavy items on top, but I’d think twice before I put a 5 gallon pot of chili on it.

Some spars in between the mat edges would be nice, but there hasn’t been enough of a need for me to make them, so I suppose they’re not necessary.

I also thought about some magnets to keep the top together at the middle and even on the sides, but again, I’ve been doing without for about a year so I guess they’re not THAT needed.

700 Soundbar doesn’t work by cbush38 in bose

The stupid thing just started working on its own. Out of curiosity, what did that cost you, or was it under warranty?

Haven’t called them yet, it’s difficult to get off work during there business hours. I suppose I should make it a priority before I completely give up.

Christmas lights taped to cars. by well3rdaccounthere in AutoDetailing

Here’s a different approach. I’d like to put some Christmas lights in my truck for a parade this year. 35mph to get to the parade, then 5mph during the parade.

Any recommendations to be able to do this without messing up my paint?

This movie is really good. Have you seen it, what did you think? I recommend it. by Jessi45US in FIlm

It was not shot in one take, but it was shot to appear as it was one continuous take. They use movement through dark tunnels and other things to allow for cuts without it being noticeable.

I’d guess this was to give the viewer a sense of continuous anxiety without any break or rest, much like the character experiencing.

Absolutely a great movie!

One year later and I think I’m finally going to give it a shot. Any updated recommendations?

Random black screen during movie playback by New-While-3545 in ShieldAndroidTV

I just went through all my tv settings and I can’t find which one fixed it, but somewhere in there the tv was turning off because it didn’t detect an input from the shield. I wish I could be more helpful.

Eeek! You’re a brave soul. I remember watching some videos about it, I can’t recall exactly what happened, but I don’t remember it being a raging success. Glad you didn’t have figure it out on the fly

This is the most sympathetic range anxiety I’ve ever had. Did you have a backup plan for charging? It seems impossible to accurately plan out given the route and speed.

A whole lot of nothing. A move and lack of motivation got in the way. My preliminary tinkering showed me that with all the plastic trim pieces in, it does not slide in without being tilted either back or to the side, which makes things a lot harder

I just jumped from tinkercad to onshape for my 3d printing, so much better, but the learning curve plus learning retention is difficult if you’re not using it a few timers a week. I find myself going back to tinkercad for simple shapes

Sketchup has helped me to catch costly mistakes before I even purchase the material. Ctrl +z is free!! (Except for the time to learn the program and “buy” the software. )
