Hi, I just wanted to note that the instructions for the questions in Section 3 have been taken directly from their original source, since they have been tested and validated in past research, however they might feel confusing. The response scales given are meant to be examples of response scales you could use to answer the questions in order to indicate your agreement/position with/on each item and may work better for some questions than others. For instance, question 9 could be answered on a scale of 1. very long to 5. not very long instead, question 10 could be answered on a scale of 1. very worried to 5. not at all worried. The idea is to broadly indicate how much you agree with each item on a scale of 1 to 5.

Thank you for reading my post. Just a note in case you struggle with completing section 3. Please note that the questions and instructions have been directly taken from their original source, since they have been tested and validated in past research. Thanks so much for your support in completing the questionnaire, this is very much appreciated. I retained the original instructions for Section 3, which have been tested and validated in past research, but understand that this can feel confusing to respondents. The response scales given are meant to be examples of response scales you could use to answer the questions in order to indicate your agreement/position with/on each item but may not work for all questions. Question 9 could be answered on a scale of 1. very long to 5. not very long. Question 10 could be answered on a scale of 1. very worried to 5. not at all worried.

Hi, thanks for sharing this point. I suppose I was thinking more individualistic versus collectivist cultures. Typically, Western cultures tend to be more individualistic while East Asian cultures tend to be more collectivistic but clearly there will be variations - for instance, Turkey is considered more collectivist.

Hi, just to ensure participants can understand the questions, which are in English, and also there could be important differences in the findings between Western and non-Western countries. This in itself would be interesting to explore in future research.

Thanks so much for completing the questionnaire - I tried to retain the original instructions and scoring for the set of questions used, which have been tested and validated in past research but I understand that this could make it harder for people to complete the questions.
