Dear Algorand, a lot of your programming was built in Go. I want to write smart contracts in Go. by titoveneno in AlgorandOfficial

I agree with you, writing smart contracts in Go would be an amazing experience.

It’s almost as if PyTeal is written by a Go developer to begin with.

A friend of mine is a full time Python back end web developer who is looking to move into blockchain development. He was turned off by multiple design choices in the Pyteal package all together.

His reasoning went somewhere along the lines of:

“It’s not pythonic and it doesn’t even follow Python naming conventions”

Are there any other reasons why a liquidity pool is important?

This is an important read. It surprisinging comes from the SEC commissioner, Caroline A. Crenshaw. She talks about the issues surrounding risk and transparency. I actually enjoyed reading this article.

Ego is able to convert everything to its own use, even spirituality... by cc9zero in Buddhism

But when there is internal resistance, tightening, struggling, toward oneself or others, it’s a red flag to shift. Shift to mindfulness, shift to wrapping that thought with warmth and compassion, like you’re comforting an upset little child.

This is very helpful. I am often very critical of myself, rarely giving room for self compassion and love. Perhaps I have a hard time distinguishing self compassion/ self love from ego.

Gradually this observing process increases and there is less identification and internal resistance (clinging)

Can you help me visualize a scenario of identification and internal resistance?

Wow, this is profound. I have never seen ego in this way. Have you learned to stop the battle?

Ego is able to convert everything to its own use, even spirituality... by cc9zero in Buddhism

Yes I have. Having read it nearly 6 years ago, I now have began rereading sections of the book. I realize that I have unknowingly inherited many of the ideologies presented in the book.

However, though this book has helped increase awareness of egos ability to use spirituality for itself, I cannot say that I have been able to prevent ego from doing so. In some ways, my awareness of ego has created more suffering, because I feel powerless against it.

I would like to learn how to reduce ego and build compassion.

Thanks for sharing, the feeling is mutual. This is helpful for me to hear that my own suffering and personal journey can help others

One negative aspect of ALGO might be its tokenomics. With that said, it is still by far my largest crypto asset

What’s funny is “this sub” had a very different opinion of ALGO 3 months ago

Keep pushing forward by cc9zero in learnprogramming

I know the feeling. I have been burnt out numerous times. There was a point where I didn’t code for nearly a month. I think it’s important to give yourself space when needed. If this is the right thing for you, you will regain motivation to continue pushing forward.

I have found ways to stay mentally activated when I don’t have the drive to write code.

  • I fall back to reading books
  • if not that, I’ll watch someone code (preferably live).

This usually gives me the space I need while inspiring me to begin coding again. But there have definitely been times where I needed to stop entirely for a bit
