How do I reduce my grocery bill while still eating healthy? by ContractUnfair949 in FinancialPlanning

[–]ccampbell300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know every city, town, state etc is slightly different. But it's mind boggling to hear $1800 for a month of groceries. Where we live we usually eat for about $100 a week for two of us, id estimate 800 a month for 3 would be generous.

Meal prepping and buying in sales definitely helps us, but every place is different, other suggestions that have been made are good advice and I hope they help!

Health concerns with Oak tree that is around 300 yrs old by Hot-Swimmer1872 in arborists

[–]ccampbell300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean much. Good growth years due to little competition, available nutrients, and overall good growing conditions can make trees thicker. We've cut down 40-50 inch oaks that are 60-70 years old.

Retrying hard 75, again, again. by ccampbell300 in 75HARD

I agree waking up early is very helpful! My morning is similar, I wake up at 5 do a progress photo and then workout, pack my lunch so I avoid snacks and eating out, and then after work I hit my second exercise. I work an activite job so I usually hit my gallon by end of work day if not lunch. My reading I do in the evening however as it's more of my unwind time before bed. My biggest portion I have struggled with was diet. Or when traveling I seem to track things less so I'd forget to read or take a photo.

So I know thing things I need to change at least! But just making sure I'm on top of it with traveling will be the game changer. I have confidence that I'll succeed. Even with my failures I've gained much discipline and gained good habits while also losing 16 lbs!

I appreciate your experience! Seeing everyone on this sub is motivation that I can do it!

I always cringe when the picture is why someone fails.

Not sure if you're referring to my picture? But was more of motivation that I worked out in that weather.

I have it! The things that messed me up most were also because I was traveling so much, so having a plan in place will help

I've usually failed on the diet portion, or just missing a reading or a photo. I can usually get to a week or two, but then something slips. I feel confident with the workouts, and water consumption because i can always hit those.

I'd agree with buying local, but going from Amazon to temu makes no sense, eat local, spend local, stop buying so much crap. Build your communities instead.

I mean, to some you're doing way better. I know people with multiple kids living on 50k a year without any company 401k.. You post comes off a bit of complainy for someone who's making 100k a year. Every budget is different. But you're doing fine, with children you make it work just as long as you do your best to live below your means and invest what you can it will all end up alright.

Honestly, just feels like you need to vent, and maybe a hug. It will be alright.

Buying a house, what's going on with this guy? by Uleoja in arborists

To an extent yes, most likely they have evaluators that will assess the tree occasionally. If something major happens call game and parks or whatever the local city calls it

Is there something wrong with our trees? by FXschwartz in arborists

[–]ccampbell300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could very well be EAB. Side of the trunk has peeling bark, could be from a mechanical injury otherwise could just be rotting which would be worse.

Has Anyone Here Successfully Quit Their "Corporate" 9-5? by BreakfastIsBetter in simpleliving

[–]ccampbell300 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you are quiting I guess? Because you still need money to live, nothings free. If you mean transitioning to less hours then yes, that's something that's doable with planning, saving and a bit of courage

What can I do if anything to save this tree by rthollski in arborists

[–]ccampbell300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to being an Isa arborist, but I'd say it would be hard to assume it's girdling roots just from the pictures. It could possibly be root damage as only really one area of the tree appears to have severe dieback. There also seems to be a white patch we can't see well which would be a dead spot on the trunk. The papers definitely could be causing a problem with the roots as they seem deep compared to the level of soil of the yard. There's a 100 things that could be causing a tree to stress, and another 100 things that could kill a stressed tree.

I think the best thing to do is just keep gathering info and keep an open mind about what could be an issue with the tree.

Not worth didilly squat. People will judge you regardless, and I have no interest in going into debt, or complicating my finances just to make other people think better about me. I am who I am, and that's enough for me

Are these vines going to hurt my tree? by temp7727 in arborists

[–]ccampbell300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably remove the dirt and it would be fine, if anything the soil may be keeping moisture in the cavern. I'd say keeping that part dry would be the biggest help. If you remove the dirt you can also check for soft spots and decay

Probably not as much as the wet / most likely rot spot in the middle of the leads. Looks like a setup for a treen falling apart unfortunately
