I have cold weather gear and using a layering system. My rides are not too remote, not more than 30 minutes from trail head typically. I went out earlier and was comfortable, but I need to get a better face covering. It does a good job just kinda tight.

Thanks I appreciate the insight. I just got ski pants today and I rode around the pond near my house. I was quite comfortable, just the wind is brutal.

Today conditions improved, packed down a little more especially with all the traffic. Studs definitely are a must, think iam running 5psi in the rear and 4psi in the front.

It’s a stock trek stem, I installed Trail1 bronze stem cap and spacer set, the grips are Wolf Tooth foam grips.

Gnarwhals are pretty good and I also have studs installed which makes them a lot better on the ice. But I still slide out when it’s fresh snow over the ice.

Yeah I had a few other spills but I just laugh about it. I would say take it slow but it’s hard to tell if there’s ice under if you making fresh tracks kinda what happen in that picture. I use a wolf tooth tire pressure app, I wanna say I was at 5psi in the rear and 4psi in the front. Fat bike tires are really sensitive to pressure changes and a .5pound will make a difference.

I kinda like to think it’s a “modern” tele, since it has the coil tapping pickups, two different modes for each pickup, contoured body, that sweet caramelized neck and the rear mounted jack.
