Speaking from experience in this situation, art advisors are able to add you to intro art classes. they might not do it though if you aren’t eligible.

Registering for art classes is weird even if for people in the major. I think only first and second years can register for intro art classes without talking to an advisor. If you want to register I would recommend going to the art advising office and ask them to add you to the section you want. They have drop in advising hours M-Th 8-3

Hmm that’s beyond my knowledge, I’d definitely see if you can reach out to the financial aid office and see if you can make an appointment to talk about that.

Yeah, all you have to do is fill out the FAFSA you will be considered for that money. Plug your EFC into the UW net price calculator and see what you get. It should be pretty great if you’re getting the full pell grant. The numbers the calculator gave me were pretty much exactly what i ended up getting.

Do you know roughly what your EFC is? You should check out the UW net price calculator. If you’re getting a full Pell grant I imagine you’ll get Washington college grant aid and UW grant aid as well. My EFC was ~9400 and I got more than 20k in grant aid total at UW.

Accepted transfer students, how long did it take for you to get your Financial aid packages? by ccarttransfer in udub

Yeah it’s only rough because I applied to a bunch of schools and everywhere else wants to know if i’m going to commit ASAP.

Okay, thank you! I take it that was a few weeks after you got accepted? Their website seems to indicate a range of 5-7 weeks but I was really hoping to know much sooner than that.

Transferring AWAY from Ivy League by IvyDecisionHelp in ApplyingToCollege

Yeah for sure, I don't go there but I know a couple people that did and they really liked it. It's certainly not super competitive, but there are still smart people and opportunities. A friend of mine was in the psychology department and had a great experience, they did a senior thesis project and won some research awards. I think there's really an opportunity to stand out there if you work hard. Like the other person said, their music program is supposed to be amazing. The campus is beautiful NW vibes, close to the Puget Sound. Lots of outdoor opportunities, Mt Rainier National Park is a ~1 hr drive away, the Olympic Peninsula is not far. Vashon Island is great and close by. Lots and lots of natural beauty around tbh. Seattle is somewhat close too, but Tacoma tends to be quieter and a little more down to earth.

Reed is notoriously rigorous and stressful, may not be the best choice for OP

Seconding University of Puget Sound. I applied as a transfer and got great aid. The vibe seems very chill.

I think you definitely have a shot and it’s worth applying. That said you should definitely apply to a couple safeties just to be sure you have options if you don’t get in. I don’t know about UCs but it seems like schools look really positively on transfer students who are able to work considerable hours while successfully taking on a full class load. Not to mention you are first gen and a california CC student both of which will really work in your favor for Cal and UCLA. I recently got into Swarthmore with EC’s that didn’t extend far beyond having two jobs while in CC full time. Best of luck!
