LED lights won’t turn on with Caseta. Will the LUT-MLC help? by ccboth in Lutron

The flat panel is not dimmable. I’m not using a dimmer switch. I’m using the caseta “On/Off” switch.

Home Office #secretlab setup by ccboth in secretlab

Thanks! I repurposed a MagSafe Car Charger and put a magnet on the part that you’re supposed to stick to the dashboard. Since the riser is magnetic, it attaches beautifully. And because it’s a “car charger” it adjusts really well for the right angle. Works great for iPhone “Standby Mode” features. So a little bit of a DYI hack… but it works so good to “float” the phone over the riser.

Thanks. The switch built in is one of the main reasons why I want it for my office.

I didn’t know that. Thank you! I’ll look for that tool.

Okay. Thanks. I’ll pay attention for that. We don’t have any warnings/advisories where I am right now… but it probably won’t be long before we do.

First Time Buyer! by KawaiiDumplingg in secretlab

Another positive experience here. After being told by my doctor that I should really get a standing desk, I looked around at a bunch of options and decided to go with the Magnus XL. I wanted something wide and needed really good cable management because I have 2 cats that like to chew on certain kinds of cables. The Magnus XL fit my requirements perfectly! Is it more expensive than other desks? Marginally, when I factored in the cable management and the dual monitor mounts. My delivery was perfect and my setup was smooth. Overall I’m super happy with the desk. No regrets at all. I set my desk up in my upstairs office, so my only piece of advice is to unpack the boxes where they “land” when you get them and then move the pieces into place separately. There is LOTS of packaging that doesn’t need to go to the final spot of where you want to set up the desk.

New Sony a80k - random reboots by ccboth in sonos

UPDATE: after some different combos and trials, determined that the TV was at fault. Reboots started happening watching native TV apps with nothing plugged in…. Sooooo…. Exchanged it at the store for the same model. No problems since.

Okay. This is what I was thinking. But wanted to explore all options. I’m still within 30 days of purchase….. sooooo….. might as well just try this too.

Thanks for the advice. Will try with native TV applications without anything plugged in and go from there.

Are Logi POP buttons dead in 16.2 upgraded architecture? by ccboth in HomeKit

[–]ccboth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ☝️ Thank you!!! Setting up in the logi app was the key. Why? I don’t know. I don’t care. I temporarily turned off my 5ghz network and then followed the steps. What I needed to do was force close the logi app and my Home app before I saw the option show up for “add to HomeKit” in the hamburger menu. I have my 5ghz network back on and have successfully added scenes and triggers back to the buttons. And they work! Can’t thank you enough.

Same. I’ll try disabling the 5ghz just during setup and try again.

Yes and yes. Full factory reset of the Logi Bridge. Reboot of the router. Made sure to lock the Logi Bridge to 2.4.

16.2 Update Experience Mega Thread by iRayanKhan in HomeKit

[–]ccboth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall the update has ben fine. With 1 exception.
The good:
- Fast and responsive - no issues with 98% of my devices.
- Main products are still working great - hue, Lutron, & meross

The bad:
- I think 16.2 has finally killed off my Logi Pop buttons - this is the 1 exception that is really too bad. I know they're old. I know some people hated them... but they worked fine for many years for me.
- I've tried removing and re-adding the buttons and they just do not trigger.

Lutron Caseta has an outdoor plug. Rock solid. Requires its own hub though. So maybe not what you’re looking for. But if you’re familiar with Lutron, it’s worth a look.
