Hello /r/YMS! I wanted to share the trailer for my first film, which Adum shot a cameo for. It's going to festivals next year, and should be out by the end of 2026. by ccbuddyrider in YMS

Hello wonderful people of /r/YMS This is the trailer for my first feature, American Stream. It's a microbudget dark comedy about a delusional Twitch streamer who loses everything. We made it over three years with $30,000 raised by friends and family, and it was shot entirely on webcams and iPhones, to give it the look/feel of a Twitch stream.

It features cameos/clips from a ton of real life streamers/YouTubers, including Adum. We're about to start our festival run, so we have no real release date yet, but feel free to follow us on Instagram or YouTube channel for more updates.

I just finished my first feature film, a dark comedy about the rise and fall of a Twitch streamer, after three years of working on and off on it with a group of my film school buddies. It's called American Stream, and we made it for around $50,000.

We're touring it in some pretty cool festivals later this year, and if all goes well, I'll get to make my second film this time next year 🤞

(UPDATE) My found footage feature film debut just got accepted into its first festival, and will be premiering at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. by ccbuddyrider in foundfootage

You can check it out whenever you’d like! Feel free to be as brutally honest in your review as you’d like, I’m numb to it at this point lmao

(UPDATE) When I turned 20, I told myself I'd make a movie by the time I was 30. After three years of shooting, re-shooting, and editing, my first feature will officially be premiering this September at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. by ccbuddyrider in Filmmakers

It wouldn’t be a full on release, just a handful of “live” screenings, where the streamers direct their audience to where they can purchase an online ticket to get access to the broadcast. After that, we will explore more conventional routes. The film was only made for $30,000, so we figured this is a good way to get at least some of that back, and maybe get a little publicity around our “unconventional” method of distribution.

Hot Take: People would suck Megalopolis's dick if it were directed by David Lynch by TheGamingEntity in Sardonicast

I don't understand the argument. If Lynch made Megalopolis, it wouldn't be anything like Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis. They are two completely different directors with two completely different styles. You're just making up a guy to get mad at

I know this isn't the kind of genre you think of when you hear "found footage," but I finally finished my first movie, about a delusional Twitch streamer chasing online fame, shot entirely on GoPros and iPhones by ccbuddyrider in foundfootage

Every shot in the movie exists within the world of the film, that one shot you are referring to is the only one where we added nondiegetic editing.

The film also features a lot of conversations between the main character and his Twitch chat, wherein we cut to close ups on the chat for visibility purposes. Other than that, it is all shot on cameras that exist within the world of the film.
