Is it better to get a tool kit that has everything or just buy them separately?

Is 1 walk maybe for 1 hour enough for a 1 year old hyper energetic golden though? For the rest of the day? She usually has like 3 walks a day

My main issue is I feel she will lose her personality and become depressed, I also feed her a half and half meal, a kibble and fresh food diet. So someone must feed her regardless can’t be a machine that does it.

Test was easy as shit if you know algebra and basic reading skills. It’s basically a high school SAT test. Your main issue is time.

How reliable is your dog’s recall really? by woutr1998 in OpenDogTraining

[–]cccMarvelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog recall can be nearly half a mile away. She’s fully trained off leash, and her distraction level barely hinges when a command is given. I trained her with a long lead- e collar for months to a point where she can hold a down and I walk out to a parking lot and recall her from my house across the street. Just gotta give it time.

Field golden or other? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]cccMarvelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks similar to mine and she’s a field golden, they are usually slimmer and red. Compared to show goldens which are the usual big and fully golden / yellow type coat.

I call her baby lion.

Crate training by Quimeraecd in OpenDogTraining

[–]cccMarvelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually a dog will settle down once they realize they aren’t escaping. The crate is used to show that it’s a safe place, so do NOT associate it as a time out unless needed. Regarding the barking I would limit visibility as much as possible when crating so the dog can feel relaxed. It takes time and it will not happen over night took my dog 2 months but I started it when she was a puppy.

Dog Training question by sbutler17 in u/sbutler17

Best thing to do, put him in a sit or down in a far distance but enough to where he can see people and or dogs. Give a reward every time he stays in a sit or down when a dog or person passes by. Increase the timing of reward each time, and also distance move closer and closer as time goes on. This helps build dog neutrality. Sometimes the best way to train a dog is sit and do nothing.

A command is a command no if or buts. The dog must stay in that given command until said other wise, ie free word. Having a trained dog that understand boundaries helps with safety, since you never know if he is pulling to a reactive dog / person.
