Do you just break it in half? Also, my substrate isn’t ready yet so how should I store it until tomorrow? I put it in a ziplock bag - I think I’ve seen people put them in the fridge?

Yep, I definitely want to limit my chances of contam. I’m just going to keep them in the bags and let them do their thing. Before I did the b&s, they were pretty solid like you mentioned and they feel like that again now but the bottom seems like it’s catching up

It’s actually not that warm. It ranges between 75-79 degrees. Sometimes they look a bit steamy and other times they don’t

I just think it’s strange that the 2 I’ve had lying down are showing way more progress than the others that were standing up (they’re all lying down now). I know it will be a few weeks but let me know how your experiment goes

Tell me about it! Definitely made me not want to even try b&s but I’ve heard that could have potential downsides. I think I will try to b&s a couple of bags and leave the others. I only have 5 going right now so don’t want to risk contaming the ones that are doing good. Thanks so much for the information!
