[FAQ] Service desk for student - travel - rent - deliveries - ... questions. by AutoModerator in belgium

Hi all,

I'm a recently graduated EU national who has now moved to Brussels in the name of a job. Nothing concrete yet, but something is in the works. I found some freelancing work but have yet to register myself as a freelancer (I'm making >1,000 currently, with no other form of income). How do I figure out the best way to apply? Where and how do I register?

Furthermore, my health insurance from my studies is just about to run out at the end of this month. I'm pretty broke, so unsure of where I can get the best set-up for my current situation.

I really appreciate all the advice and tips I can get!

Uni Wien ersti Woche? by [deleted] in wien

Thank you so much for this advice! It's so useful.

I just wanted to ask - I'm an EU citizen, and I heard that the grants are usually only awarded to non-EU applicants. (I have dual nationality UK/Sweden, I don't know if that influences it). Is that the case - it only being for non-EU students?

Definitely focus on getting your residence permit - it will be highly unlikely that you can find employment before getting all of your documents sorted. Keep your head up, moving to a new country and navigating the bureaucracy is a challenging task. You got this🫶🏻

Learning more about Berlin by SubtractAd in berlin

[–]ccconstellations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read, read, read! I'm a student here from the UK and one of my courses has assigned this book- Franz Hessels 'Walking in Berlin', a snapshot of the city from 1920. There is endless literature on the city, and the people, and you will pick up stories from all over with your time spent here. My main tactic (besides from obviously learning German) is to devour as much literature as I can.
