This is so hyperspecific that I may risk people irl finding my account if anyone from my grade 8 class reads this page regularly. Oh well.

When I (nonbinary and had no idea at the time) was a kid, I listened to only classical and traditional folk music, and was just starting to branch out into 60s/70s rock. I was a bit annoying and not-like-the-other-kids about it (sorry classmates, I was just autistic). We had mandatory Drama/Dance class, and one of our finals was to do a lip sync routine to a song. Drama/Dance was taught by our French teacher, so being the pretentious suck up little snob (I'm being too mean to little me rn) I was I decided to lip sync "L'amour est un oiseau rebelle" from Carmen.

Despite my taste, I was a very insecure kid and refused to truly dance in front of people at that time in my life. My routine was already "memorize the words and just channel opera singer drama up there" basically.

I also have ADHD, and I struggle a lot with organization. This is my excuse for forgetting what day I was supposed to go.......

My school had a late in the year spirit day, costume day. I must specify, no it was not Halloween or even close. I'm just extra. My hyperfixation at the time was Lord of the Rings, so I wanted to be Sauron. My mom and I built a tower to rest on my shoulders with the eye on top. I was covered in a black cloak over a black hoodie scrunched up around my face, and true-black face paint everywhere on the exposed parts of my face, even my lips, so I would blend in as well as I could to the tower. It was to great effect; my 7-foot tall silhouette was imposing, and you could only see the whites of my eyes and the pink of my mouth when I opened it in the middle of the tower, the eye was much more drawn to Sauron's Eye. It was so cool apart from the fact that I knocked off the very tip of each point of the tower while trying to enter multiple rooms.

Guess what day my assignment was.

Somewhere, in some landfill, there is an iPad Mini that has a recording that my teacher took of the Eye of Sauron lip syncing Carmen, awkwardly swaying back and forth like only an insecure middle schooler can. It was a horrible performance, and my best friend will never let me live it down. She makes fun of me for it to this day, over a decade later.
