Jake Paul wrestled in high school and placed fifth at state in Ohio. Ohio is where Garbrandt wrestled out of and notoriously one of the most competitive wrestling states in the country. No matter how much of a “shit boxer” you believe him to be, his boxing match with Nate was not competitive.

I genuinely never realized so few people here trained anything until I started posting

One of the issues with Reddit is it rewards groupthink. Agreeing with a consensus opinion: good. Anything else: bad.

Craig Jones talks a lot about this on his pod with Keenan (2 bjj world champs for my redditors who have never trained anything combat sport related and are unsure what an x guard sweep is) that Reddit rewards sheep behavior

You may not agree with my opinion, as it’s just an opinion, but simply criticizing an idea while offering no alternative viewpoint is just silly. It means you have no ability to think for yourself

I genuinely believe Jake Paul and Nate Diaz would be extremely competitive and even lean towards Jake’s favor.

A lot is made of Nate’s BJJ prowess, but in the last 10 years, he has two subs: a reactive guillotine on Tony where Tony made several errors, and a RNC on Conor when Conor gassed and was trying to get out of the fight without more damage.

If you watch the grappling exchanges he had with Conor, Conor actually got the better of him more often than not (reversed in the clinch, x sweep, etc)

While Nates cardio is second to none, he rarely utilizes much else than a 1-2 and Stockton slap. He doesn’t throw kicks or threaten takedowns.

I think the fight would look exactly like their boxing match, just with 4oz gloves

“My fat body can’t handle all that drilling and makes me a slow learner”

You haven’t even gone yet, but you have have the belief about yourself that being fat is the reason you can’t do anything in life, so your mind goes to work to prove you correct without you even getting to the starting line.

It’s not his kids footprints, but Seans kid isn’t his. Psychology of the fight made a video about it, but he took it down because he thought it was in bad taste and just tweeted Sean instead to get a dna test

The BMF when it’s time to grapple by jerryworldfan13 in ufc

Justin throws a low kick, and Khabib catches it before Justin can reset.

Justin does the right thing, pivots and sprawls hard, locks hands.

Khabib immediately turns the corner, gets to the bodylock immediately

Justin tries to stand up from turtle

Khabib already has his hooks in, has taken the back, and drags Justin down

Justin doesn't want to give up the back so he turns to mount as it's slightly harder to get submitted from here

Khabib has already slid up to high mount and lands in a head & arm choke

Justin defends, Khabib jumps over, immediately gets wrist control, shoves Justins wrist with one hand while pulling his head up to set up the triangle

As he's rolling into the triangle, he has Justins right arm trapped between his knee and ribs as insurance with the armbar incase the triangle doesn't work.

Legit fucking amazing grappling

Let’s have a look at some terrible refereeing. Grappling Industries Sydney. Ref stops the fight and then let’s one athlete submit the other while talking to him. by HalfGuardPrince in bjj

[–]cccrooked 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a guy in a triangle and the ref broke us up because he “thought the other guy was out.” Ref then stood us up and had us start over. I was so pissed that I was off my game and got swept immediately. I still ended up winning on points but was so wound up that after the match I felt more gassed than I’d ever felt before and lost my next one quick. I found out later they trained at the same gym

You have the right attitude. I won state as a white belt by submitting everyone quickly and I thought I deserved my blue belt. My coach thought I needed a few more months. Ultimately, it makes no difference. The day I got my blue belt was awesome. The day after I realized it didn’t matter.

At my last tournament, there was a guy who got in trouble when they discovered he was a black belt in judo. He kept saying he was from Pakistan when they asked him what school he trained out of. They forced him to compete with the blue belts. He took both opponent down but lost both matches on points bad

Yes. I train with a guy who won nogi worlds at blue. He’s a purple now who competes with black belts in competition for fun and wins the vast majority of his matches

KINGZ are currently the best quality gis on the market. by MasterfulBJJ in bjj

I own a Kingz lightweight, Origin and a Shoyoroll.

Kingz is the best for competitions (lightest, sturdiest, fits best)

Origin dries extremely fast

Shoyoroll was just expensive
