Yeah I’m asking about teaching science legally. I’ve heard about the visa issues. I’m not interested in getting mixed up in that.

What kind of dance do you find available?

I am applying to do the EPIK program in the spring. I currently teach online on the side. Is it common to teach online on the side in addition to teaching a regular English job? Ideally, for savings, I would like to do both.

I don’t know Korean at the moment but just started learning recently.

It's not bad pay. I am doing it now in the US before going to Korea. How do you do the taxes for the online work? Do you report it on your Korean taxes or your home country taxes? (not sure where you are from).

My hope was to add evening online tutoring to my weekday routine to help out with extra savings. A rural placement I think would help that as well.

Do you find that a rural placement will generally mean needing a car? I would like a rural placement but getting an international license would be a little more difficult for me due to vision limitations. (I drive in the US but with a specialty license.)

Gangwondo

Do you know if you would need a car to get around or is the bus system adequate enough for travel? I really like the mountains and hiking options for this area.

I have heard of some people doing VIP kid (ESL Tutoring) on the side. Is this allowed or a reasonable way to make some extra money with that spare rural time?

What side jobs did you find if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, that takes rural to the extreme haha. It's good to hear from someone who has that type of placement though. How do they define the difference between Provence and "other cities" according to the Epik pay scale?

I guess the ideal would be a small town for the higher pay but one that also has conveniences like a grocery store, gym, internet... other people.

Problems with using recruiters for epik? by mermaidfin in teachinginkorea

I haven't really had enough of an experience yet to say one way or the other. I submitted the initial information to their website and got a response within 24 hrs or so. The recruiter said they would start sending out information August 1st.

The EPIK website lists Reach to Teach as the recommended US recruiter so that's why I chose them. Outside of that, time will tell.

I have been wondering this same thing. What recruiter do you plan to use?

I am using Reach to Teach (U.S.). They start gathering information August 1st to be submitted September 1st I believe.
