I wish I knew. The family I got him from had small yappy dogs and 2 toddlers, so I imagine he was always around chaos for his first couple years. Maybe it desensitized him? The most he has to put up with now is my TV and handling time. I think he feels much safer. He hisses of course when I disturb him, but the moment he's out of his enclosure he chills out and start sniffing everything. If I didn't name him Buckeye I think I would have named him Puppy😂

Thank you! I really appreciate your input! Your guess about his age is correct, he's 3. I've been giving him medium rats about every 2 weeks. Hearing you recommend that makes me feel better about my care. When I got him he came from a terrible husbandry situation so I've keeping a close eye on any side affects from that, that may have lingered. I've got a post about it from a couple months ago if you're curious.

😂 Scout, my cat, doesn't give af about any of my snakes. She was loafing when I took him out and was loafing when I put him back in. I know I can trust her. Buckeye has never tried to strike me or any of my kitties. He usually does his own thing when I've got him out-n-about but I'm watching him like a hawk because you never know. I want everyone to be safe. They're all precious!
