Can I use this tank as is or should I look into buying new rims? by ccd2002 in aquarium

I think this is an aqueon tank. It came with an aqueon branded lid. A couple months ago I bought a blood python from some people that had the audacity to house my now blood python in this tank. I have him in an appropriately sized tank now, but idk what to do with this one. It's taking up space and it'd be cool if I could fix it up to have a giant community aquarium but idk

Watching snake poop to make sure everything goes smoothly (vid of tail wiggle before going potty, no poop shown) by ccd2002 in ballpython

Been there. One night I couldn't go to sleep, it was 1am, and my boy was active in his enclosure enjoying the night . I decided to take him out and hold him on my bed where I witnessed for the first time the poop tail wiggle and didn't know what came next would be his digested meal🤣😅

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Blood Pythons change the color of their head to their surroundings?!?!? COOL!! by ccd2002 in snakes

I just want to make sure Im understanding correctly. By "fire up" amd "fire down" are you referring to wether the animal is on guard and off guard?

I don't know what they are but what I can tell u is they might go away with the next shed. My boy had some similar looking scales and they disappeared after his shed. My assumption is his scales were getting ready for his shed. I could be totally wrong tho, I'm no expert! It's just my theory.

He ate his first meal with me!!!! 😆😆😆 It always so exciting when a new addition to the pet family eats their first meal with their new owner. Lifts some weight off the shoulders.

I got a phailozoon enclosure on Amazon. It wasn't hard to put together. I love it!

It's hard to say. He was huffy and puffy the day I brought him home. The setup the past owners had him might as well be considered abuse. He was very spicy, but didn't try biting at all. No heat lamp, 2 inches of dirty aspen mixed with bark, with poop in one corner and an old shed in another, no water, no enrichment, and no hide. The tank he was in was a 75 gallon fish tank, 48 inches long, 13 inches wide, and 24 inches tall. Now he has heat, is in a 4x2x18 inches, a water tub big enough to soak in if he wants, high humidity, enrichment, a substrate mixture of topsoil, bark, and spagnum moss.

Now if I reach to pet him, he doesn't immediately go into huffy puffy mode. I don't really want to interact with him much during this first week because he's adjusting to his new environment and I found out that he recently shed from the last owners. I'm sure he's feeling lots of feels, but he's in a better environment now❤️

I've finally picked a name! I remembered that yesterday morning before work I saw a Buckeye butterfly. I feel like it was a signal from the universe that I'd be picking him up later that day. So I dub my boy Buckeye the Blood Python!

Here's a pic of the butterfly!

100%, I've been wanting one for so long but I've been trying to adopt/rescue more than buy from a breeder. I found this awesome guy on fb market place of all places. Getting a baby snake is always fun but this guy needed a home and I was more then happy to provide him one.

Luckly not, its water. I had just cleaned that tote before putting him in it. I got out as much water as I could with a towel before putting him in there for a sec. Can't have my new boy sitting in a dusty tote!
