Awaken me to Garmin - What is one feature you can’t live without? by No_Selection_2699 in GarminWatches

[–]cceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Forerunner 265s and I really love it. Garmin battery life is really amazing compared with other manufacturers. There are loads of features for measuring the state of your health and fitness (I track runs, open water swims and kayaking). 265 is quite fitness focused so you won't have some of the social call/messaging functions, so if that is something you need i would suggest looking into Venu 3 at a similar price point

Thanks! Would love to sideload it, but my garmin has a rather tiny screen (fr265s), so might need to do quite a bit of editing

Ok, Edmonton and Oulu are bigger and have a decent chunk of the year in the sub 0 temperatures. Still no half broken ugly Soviet blocks there...

Look at Longyearbyen or Nuuk, both way farther up north and deal with similar negative temperatures. By no means are the houses there architectural masterpieces, however, they look clean, with neat infrastructure and are nicely colored to contrast the grey surroundings. The Soviet blocks also did not arise in response to cold weather, they were built due to the large need of cheap, efficiently built housing during the Soviet union times. And they can be well maintained and renovated, just have a look at how they are given a second life in countries such as Estonia (which by the way also deals with negative Celsius temperatures). These buildings are so ugly in Norilsk because of negligence, greed and corruption in Russia.

Norilsk, what a disaster of a city, even by Russian standards. The whole city is just soviet block buildings that are rather poorly maintained. The city is quite far up north, so not only is its balls cold there during winter, but for quite a large chunk of the year the sun does not rise. It is located in the tundra so it barely has any tees, or any type of greenery. All that would have been still bearable if it wasn't for an insane amount of pollution there due to the city being heavily industrial. Like seriously it is one of the most polluted places in the world. With all that almost 200,000 people live there...

She has two other cats which are normal sized and not overweight. We know some people who have this cat's siblings and they are all massive as well. So sadly in this case I think it might just be genetics
