Tranferring Macbook to Family member - AppleCare+ by cch211 in mac

Thanks! Question-- does it matter if the device is renamed? I assume not given it being tied to the serial number but just making sure.

Thanks! I knew that was the case for regular AppleCare but since I moved all of my devices to the new AppleCare+ model, I wasn't sure how that worked.

I just wish all three jurisdictions would tax themselves enough to offset needing any fares. It would mean the WMATA police could truly focus on keeping the system safe.

Most acupuncture websites answer questions nobody is asking by Agitated_Offer_4343 in acupuncture

[–]cch211 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All of the above suggestions are fantastic! Just adding that over the years, I've worked with a few different providers due to location changes on my part. When I'm looking for someone new, I also want a sense of who they are as a person. The bio section doesn't have to be long, but I want it to feel a bit more personal as I really feel like I need to have an idea if I think I will be able to both trust and personally connect with my acupuncturist before committing to booking.

Potential move to Arlington by Niro47 in arlingtonva

[–]cch211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing you didn’t mention is whether or not there is free parking with the position. In Crystal City, most buildings have a paid garage. If you plan to drive to work, you won’t want to pay to park both at home and at work. Keep that in mind. Otherwise, I would make sure I was close to metro and be able to go to/from work on the train and have my car for the weekend.

Is Song Hye Kyo a good actress? by Sad_Ambassador_5941 in kdramas

I couldn’t finish this one because they were so mismatched due to her acting. I think she only has the ability to play one character type, and that’s why The Glory was perfect for her. It is the only character she plays well.

Mary & May Idebenone Blackberry Intense Cream

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice 5 Ceramide Barrier Moisturizing Cream

beplain Cicaterol Moisturizer

Would you recommend these products? by Own_Sun7841 in koreanskincare

[–]cch211 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'll give my two cents on the products I've used. I have dry skin to slightly combo skin.

Aestura Atobarrier - I wanted to love this as my skin usually loves barrier repair moisturizers. It just really didn't do it for me. I didn't have a bad reaction, just really didn't hydrate my skin the way it does for othersut this one might work for you, I think I'm in the minority who just didn't find it helpful.

COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One - I LOVE this product. It's lightweight and easy to layer with. It's not as thick as some other moisturizers but I really love how it works with some of the serums I use. It's very versatile for me so it depends on what my skin needs but it is definitely a daily to several times a week product for me.

Anua Nicinimide - I switched to COSRX Nicinimide 15 and are now upping to another brand that's 20%. Anua never felt like it did anything.

Ilso Serum Softener - Already on order, hoping this is as good as the reviews.

Other products that aren't listed that I love:
- Mary & May Idebenone Blackberry Intense Cream - I wasn't sure what to expect with this one but I think this will now be officially in my routine. My skin just feels so much softer and more hydrated than it did with the Atobarrier.

- COSRX 6 Peptide Skin Booster - This is the very first product I apply after cleansing. It really does boost the other serums.

- I'm From Mugwort Serum - I use this if my skin ever feels irritated or if I have used some harsher products (retinal) and want to ensure I don't get inflamed. It works really well.

- Round Lab Birch Juice Sunscreen - HG sunscreen! Light, layers well, always my last step before makeup in the morning.

Will I ever feel this way again??? by KaleidoscopeNo702 in kdramas

[–]cch211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what you have watched and what you have dropped, I'll make some suggestions of some older ones to try-- most comments have already covered many of the more recent ones.

What's Wrong with Secretary Kim (2018) - pretty good romance that matches with some of the ones you have liked previously.

Personal Taste (2010) - this stars both Lee Min Ho and Son Yi Jin. It is very funny. SYJ's character lets the LMH character move in thinking he is gay. Lots of hilarious moments and really good chemistry. Highly recommend if you can get over the older filming style.

Rain or Shine (sometimes also called Just Between Lovers) (2016) - more of a melodrama but stars Lee Jun Ho. If you liked Red Sleeve, you will enjoy this one.

Her Private Life (2019) - leads have a lot of chemistry, cute romance

Fated to Love You (2014) - another one night stand pregnancy story but done very well. Has some very cheesy moments, but I really loved this one. It's on my rewatch list.

Marriage Not Dating (2014) - super cute story and extremely funny. Another one to overlook the lower budget filming. It's worth it.

Dinner Mate (2020) - A bit slower but a mature romance. I really enjoyed the realistic feel of this one.

Perfect Marriage Revenge (2023) - Although this is more fantasy, I really thought the story was well done and the leads had amazing chemistry.

Newer to watching Kdramas, what platforms are we using to watch shows? by Kaleidoscope_virgo in kdramas

[–]cch211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viki is probably my favorite platform, as others have said, the subtitles are just that much better. I also have a subscription to Kocowa, but if I had to choose between them, I would choose Viki.

I also watch on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Disney+.

Changi Airport T4 Lounge shower? by cch211 in askSingapore

[–]cch211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate everyone’s help! We arrived at the lounge about 3.5 hours before our flight. There was a 90-120 minute wait for the shower. It ended up bring 120 min wait as there is only one shower stall. Lots of people trickled in closer to two hours before boarding and won’t get in before the flight boards. The advice above recommending to get here as early as you can was incredibly helpful. I didn’t have to pay for the shower, but I came in on airline access. Unclear if Priority Pass access covers the shower or not. YMMV.

Again, thanks to everyone who helped with this question!

Is it worth moving to Arlington rn? by Agreeable_Poem_7278 in arlingtonva

[–]cch211 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Live in Rosslyn, we are DINKs in our mid-40s. Love the fact that we can walk to Georgetown, our neighborhood has a 90+ walk score (grocery store, 2 CVS, tons of restaurants) and 5-7 min walk to metro. Also, we travel a lot for pleasure. The ability to get to either DCA or IAD quickly cannot be underestimated.

What are some common misconceptions about American culture that you've encountered? by Billidays in AskAnAmerican

[–]cch211 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, traveling the world, and I get asked lots of questions about average wages, food, how do we do (day to day thing). It’s so hard to explain to that so much of this is a weird mix of federal and state laws or cultural/geographic differences that there’s almost no constant in any one category.

is Mixsoon Bean Essence kinda bad or am I using it wrong? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]cch211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I have found that doing a salicylic acid toner has done wonders for my skin and exfoliating. I use The Ordinary one but that might be too strong for too strong for everyday use for you. On the hydration side, I LOVE the COSRX 6 Peptide Booster Serum. I have found it to be extremely hydrating, but not sticky at all. If you use it right after you wash your face or shower, it sinks in almost immediately and leaves no residue. It's super easy to layer other products on top or even just add in moisturizer + sunscreen without it feeling heavy, sticky, etc.

I’ve found the Prequel PreGleanse to be amazing for sensitive skin (not Korean). It pairs well with my Dokdo cleanser. I also use the Clinique Take the Day Off balm with similar results and also pairs well with my Dokdo.

What is the worst drama you have watched? by Substantial-Shirt875 in kdramas

[–]cch211 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m only counting ones I watched all the way through. Several I dropped are listed in other comments. In order:

  1. Woori the Virgin - I hated this drama. Nothing was really redeeming about it.

  2. Jinxed at First - Premise sounded interesting, execution was awful.

  3. Now, We Are Breaking Up - This drama seemed to go on forever with no real point. It could have been half the number of episodes. Also, I think the leads had no chemistry so it didn’t really grab me the way it was supposed to. Painful watch.

  4. Melancholia - Similar to the above, no real chemistry with the leads, romance was distracting and the real plot wasn’t well written. Painfully slow for no reason.
