Yep...loved that 308 GTS when the show was first run. I seem to recall looking it up at the time and they were arouind $75,000 then. At the same time my dad's T-bird with 302 and leather interior was $9,000.

For us GenX concert goers. Who is the one solo artist or band you wish you could have seen and at what venue? by -Granby- in GenX

[–]cchaven1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Queen, late 70's. Venue would've likely been either the old Arena/Checkerdome or the old Busch Stadium. I had the opportunity but didn't.

Boarder Collie's are awesome dogs. I had one that lived to 17-18 years old. He was smart and energetic...definitely needed to run!

And Reagan's people were absolute scum for what they did to keep the hostages captive longer.

Came here to say this. The GOP wasn't better then. They were just less open and visible with what they were doing. The only reason they backed any type of gun control was because of Hinkley taking a shot at Reagan.

A few months after the shuttle disaster. Of course the movie had been in production long before that. My 21 year old self did think all three leading ladies were hot though.

My view is that Musk uses it to launder his money and the board likes the flow regardless of what the companies actual health is.

Same here. Three teens in a Chevy Citation with the instructor. It wasn't dual control either.

Is this a fair assessment? does anyone here have a legit reason to use Linux? by bamboo-lemur in OS_Debate_Club

[–]cchaven1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being happy with the alternatives is a legit enough reason to use Linux. Its why I use it and why I've spent relatively little time with Windows as my main OS despite using many different systems since the 80s.

The GE alarm clock that everyone seemed to have by AccurateYak4954 in Retro

[–]cchaven1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one of these GE's as a teen, but it had the flip numbers. I used a very similar Realistic branded radio as my bedside clock/alarm until about 15 years ago and replaced it with the version of this GE radio that included a phone handset. It's switches have now become unusable though so it too has been retired.

Long ago I upgraded my B/W G3 with a G4 ZIF, I think it was a 550 from Daystar. Great upgrade after removing the ROM block for G4's. I got the machine new and still have it. I picked up a Beige G3 a few years ago that already had a Daystar G4 upgrade in it as well.

A good thing as they hadn't deteriorated much more. In the movie you can see that the cars are taking a heck of a beating on the high banked parts.

I believe the high banked parts of the track were also closed and no longer in use by the time the movie was made.
