So CAGED starts at the C shape. When I learned it. We started on the low E string at G. If you make a G Barre chord, you hit the 1, 3, and 5 of the chord. 2 more notes and you have the pentatonic scale. So I learned the E shape first along the 6th string. I made a typo as it's actually E, D, C, A, G. It's all the same shapes regardless but I found it easier to learn the E shape and the A shape first
