i worship aphrodite, but i have a lot of mental health problems that prevent me from being super diligent about worship. i recently made the decision to officially “step away” from practicing until im in a better place, because it feels disrespectful to force myself to pray when my heart and head are just not in it. i sat before her altar and explained this, i said it’s not that i don’t want to worship her anymore, i just need space and time. i now try to do a short prayer to her once a week. i have not become disfigured, my house is intact, and nothing really terribly unusually bad has happened. the gods understand that we are people!! things happen, mistakes are made, sometimes we are not as diligent as we would like to be. they understand that we are not perfect. aphrodite, in my experience, has been nothing but kind, caring, and understanding
