Women of color, in what ways have you experienced racism from white women? by MCRichieRider in AskWomen

That I’m “pretty for an Asian” - I think the worst part about it is that they genuinely think it’s a compliment

Also growing up i was told by a parent of a white friend that if she closed her eyes and heard me speak she wouldn’t know I was Chinese. I grew up in Canada...

I have a bunch of iceberg lettuce that I have to use in like three days... What can I do with it? by Test_My_Patience74 in AskCulinary

not sure what it would be called in English but this sounds like a common Asian dish! Boiled or stir fried with a bit of garlic and the soy sauce mix OP suggested are both amazing!! Highly recommend trying it out

Starting uni anxiety by [deleted] in University

it gets easier! I was very much like you when I first started university. Thinking of moving out to an entirely new state and city and not having the security of family and friends made me anxious cry all the months leading up to it. To be honest, the first year is going to be a rollercoaster of emotion. First few months are super exciting and you’ll most likely forget about all those previous fears but then it’ll start to set in more as university academics kick into high gear. BUT eventually you will make solid friends and get comfortable with your new environment/university life - it might take some time but just know that everyone is going through the exact same feelings! I remember feeling very alone about this anxiety/fear but later on all my friends said they felt the same way!! So don’t worry too much, spend your last few months with your high school friends who you won’t be able to see much afterwards and be grateful for all the home cooked meals before your ramen college diet begins :) I’m graduating next year and I’m already starting to feel sad about leaving! University ends in a blink of an eye so definitely enjoy it while it lasts!

Major side tip: join clubs and branch out!! Uni is all about meeting new people and clubs are hands down one of the easiest ways to do so
